Known issue with EFI loader, used in Acronis True Image software to boot Acronis Linux bootable environment.

Solution

This issue has been fixed in Acronis True Image If you have Acronis True Image Advanced or Premium subscription, you can upgrade to the new version at no charge.

To solve the issue without upgrading to the new version, use one of the methods described below.

Method 1. Update EFI loader:

  1. Launch Acronis True Image
  2. Click on Active Protection tab
  3. Turn off Active Protection temporarily by clicking on the toggle control. This is needed because we are going to modify Acronis True Image files - Acronis Active Protection would block that.
  4. Download the fixed version of EFI loader
  5. Unzip the downloaded file. Inside you will find two files: bootwizefi and bootwizefi
  6. Copy these bootwizefi and bootwizefi into the following folder, replacing the existing files:
    • If you have Windows bit, copy both files to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImageMedia
    • If you have Windows bit, copy both files to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImageMedia
  7. Depending on in which situation you observed the error, do one of the following:
    • Re-create Acronis Bootable Media (Linux-based)
    • Deactivate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager, then activate it again
    • Repeat the recovery attempt, that is initiated from Windows and requires a computer reboot to finish
  8. Resume Active Protection function

Method 2. Use WinPE- or WinRE-based bootable media:

The issue is with EFI loader, that is used to boot Acronis Linux bootable environment. You can use WinPE- or WinRE-based bootable media as alternative. It would use Microsoft Windows loader, which does not have this problem and will boot Acronis True Image fine.

  1. Launch Acronis True Image
  2. Click on the Tools tab
  3. Click Rescue Media Builder
  4. Click Advanced
  5. Click WinPE-based media
  6. Click Windows Recovery Environment. If this option is grayed out, click one of the options below it to and proceed with on-screen instructions

  • Please check if you have an anti-virus and/or ad-blocking program running in the background. Those types of programs have been known to prevent the Online Installer from doing its job. Try either adding the Online Installer as a trusted program or try disabling the anti-virus program temporarily while running the Online Installer.

  • If you get a file mismatch error it usually indicates problems with the internet connection. The most common cause is an unstable Internet connection, in which case retrying the download should solve the issue.

  • Make sure that you have the Controlled Folder Access option in Windows Defender disabled.

  • If you have your Documents folder in Windows on a network drive there might be permission issues happening and we recommend having it on your local system drive.

  • If you are on macOS then keep in mind that you will need to copy the Online Installer into the applications folder and launch it from there.

  • If you are running macOS then when you first start the Online Installer it prompts you to enter the username and password for your macOS user. This is to enable the Online Installer to download and install files on your computer. When you have filled in your macOS user password, the OI user interface will show and you will be prompted to log-in with your sprers.eu user account credentials.

    Hi bord, ive been googling my butt off trying to find a solution but cant so here i am.

    i have a 6x 6gb rig ive recently migrated over from windows to HiveOS but i cant get the same hashrates as in windows. Please see the following screen shots for my afterburner OC and also the settings i have in HiveOS.
    i also have auto fan disabled because it was causing issues earlier on, maybe i should turn it back on?

    It mines fine for a while then suddenly the hash drops to less than half around xx Mh/s the GPUs will start showing missing in the webUI then i get the error
    “GPU driver error, no temps”

    then eventually claymore will say “temperature control thread hangs, need to restart miner!”

    after reboot everything is fine GPUs show back up hash rates are fine until it drops again and the cycle starts again.

    If this resolves the problem, reattach the hard drive and order a new Xbox Hard Drive from Device Support (sign in with your Microsoft account). Console registration is required to replace a hard drive under warranty.

    If the problem happens only with game discs, try the following:

    1. Turn off your console.

    If this solution resolves the problem, copy the content from the memory unit or flash drive to your hard drive (if you have one) or use a different USB flash drive.
