Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) Released to Web and Windows Update

Second problem, affecting certain AMD motherboards

The second problem type manifests itself in a different error code during boot, and also seems to affect only AMD-based computers. The error code will say something similar to:
Problem was detected and windows has been shut down to protect your computer from damage.

The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant

You will then get some information about how to update your BIOS. The BIOS is the basic operating system built into the computer that handles reading and writing from disk and memory, as well as some other devices. That is most likely not your problem. The screen ends with the tell-tale error code: STOP: 0x000000A5. If you have that error code, and you just installed SP3, this is most likely your problem.

At the moment, I do not know for sure why this is happening, and I have not personally seen it. The problem appears to be the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard, also with an AMD processor. Several different AMD processors have been fitted on that board, however, so it seems more likely to be the board than the processor.

The solution is simplicity itself: insert a USB flash drive, or some other form of secondary storage mechanism, before booting the computer. The people have that have seen this problem report that it goes away when they do. The catch is that the computer will only boot with a secondary drive attached. If you remove the secondary drive it will no longer boot.

It also appears that this could be related to using a USB mouse. If you have a USB mouse, try moving it to the PS/2 port instead (the little round port, you should have received an adapter with your mouse). That seems to resolve the problem without the use of an external USB flash drive.

Cannot Assign licenses to the new Microsoft Online Services Account

I have the exact same issue, fresh Server 2012 R2 Essentials and new deployment of Windows 10 Pro 1607. When I tried to run computer connector from/server/connect it failed, no issue with prior Windows 10 Pro, researched the issue and found this from Microsoft https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40285 choose the .msi for WSE-x64 (it did not specify client or server install) so I had thought the server was the logical choice...WRONG! Based on supported operating systems thought I was right on point…

Results:

Broke Dashboard, Server Manager Dashboard now says “Configuration required for Windows Server Essentials Experience at” also it shows this error message in Server Manager Dashboard when I click on Configure Windows Server Essentials"An error happened while running the Windows Server Essentials Configuration Wizard. There’s more:

Also, I cannot manually start the Windows Server Essentials Management Service without producing this error " Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion."

And I also found this:

Hi there, I'm facing the follow

Hi there, I'm facing the follow

danrab(Programmer)

(OP)

Hi there,

I'm facing the following problem, hope someone can help.
I've installed seagate info on a win2000 prof machine, as a standalone APS. On this machine the APS and sentinel services won't start.

the log-on user profile is a domain administrator with enough priveliges, password is checked and OK.

starting the sentinel service gives me an error 1075 stating the dependency service does not exist or is marked for deletion.
I've also checked the event log which says : The Info Sentinel service depends on the following nonexistent service: Rdr.
Subsequently, the APS won't start if the Sentinel isn't running.

I launched the SVR DEP tool, which is on the info-cd.
the info sentinel service depens on 3 other services :
1. NT LM Security Support Provider (which is running)
2. Remote Procedure Call (also running)
3. NET DDE Service

I found a thread on CD support site, which stated that the dependency on the NET DDE service can be removed, using this tool. I removed the dependency, rebooted the machine; but still get the same message 1075.

Is there anybody who has an idea how to solve this ?

Thanks in advance.

Windows failed to start successfully.

  • Error when you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.

    Windows XP SP3 problem

Recently, I met a problem with my PC and was forced to use the system recovery. Now I'm back to factory settings and try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3 on my computer. Windows Update won't work for me, that whenever I try to update I get [error number: 0x8024400A]. I think it's because I use Service Pack 2, or that's what I concluded after researching the problem, anyway.

This is not my real concern, however. Because I could not get the update automatically, I tried to download and install the "Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT professionals and developers" myself. The first time I did it, I restarted the PC after the installation and was met with "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. "  I went into safe mode and went to a just system restore point before SP3 was installed, but now I don't know how to install it correctly without encountering this problem after reboot. I'm hardly the easy just stick with SP2 when there are potentially important available updates. How can I get Windows Service Pack 3 is installed on my PC?

    It's certainly interesting!

If the cause of your problem is to have a HP PC with an AMD processor and an original image on your hard drive (and of course it sounds like this is the case), the solution should be to rename the file intelppm.sys and launch the sp37394.exe patch. Once done, the SP3 file that you downloaded from here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=24

    SHOULD work!

I'm puzzled why there is no intelppm.sys file in your directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers.

Since you recently returned to square one with your PC ("return to factory settings"), then you may as well run the patch from this page:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&softwareitem=PV-60484-2

and try the SP3 Setup file again.

But, first, let's be absolutely sure that we are both using the same terminology. Please answer the following questions:

    1. have you safely backed up ALL your data?

    2. what method did you use to ride "back to factory settings? I think that your choices have been a destructive restore (full) and a (partial) non-destructive recovery. The first erases the disk and leave you with a pristine image and NOTHING ELSE (which means that all of your programs and data get deleted). The other (which does not always correctly) is supposed to leave programs and data intact.

  • Windows does not start successfully - only in safe mode.

I have a 3200 HP with XP Home Edition. Windows starts only in Mode safe when I download Service Pack 3. Is there a way to fix this without doing a complete restore of the system.  I've been running without SP3 because I knew of this issue. Recently, it has been downloaded and now Windows does not start successfully.  Only in Safe Mode.   When I discovered this problem, I was able to fix it, but can't remember if it was fixed without doing a complete restore of the system and starting over.

My pc does not have a hard drive. I can't restart in any mode.

    Hello

    · What is the number and the model of the computer?

    · Do you remember all the recent changes on the computer before the show?

    · What is the service pack installed on the computer?

    · What options have tried advanced startup options?

Remove all external devices such as printers and scanners connected to the computer and then try to start.

As you mentioned you don't have a CD/DVD drive on the computer and you are not able to boot in any mode, there are only two options:

    a. you will need to connect external CD/DVD drive to the computer for further troubleshooting.

    b. you must contact the manufacturer of the computer.

In the meantime I suggest you try these options / methods

IMPORTANT NOTE: Microsoft provides this information as a convenience to you. Proposed changes could lead to serious problems. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems would be solved as a result of the suggestions. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Option 1: If you go to computer management, and then to the list of Services and find the VMware authorization Service, it appears as stopped? If so, you need to start

Option 2: Try logging on as an administrator Local host during installation first workstation, rather than you connect with a domain ID

Option 3: The question can be caused also by your security program such an antivirus or a firewall of Windows /Defender that can have conflicting parameters as to not not to perform certain tasks. I suggest you temporary disable antivirus and firewall and check the result again. You must enable security programs new that had disabled you

Option 4: The problem could be linked to a local or domain group policy. Make sure that the local account is defined as 'local user __vmware_user__' in the local Administrators group and the permissions of "Log on locally" and "Log on as a service.

The two parameters are available in the "* Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment *" branch of domain group policy or local.

Let me know if it worked.
    Hope it will be useful.

  • Windows search Windows failed to start the service on the Local computer

OK, so it's a big, dirty and convoluted issue, so please bear with me. Any help is greatly appreciated! I start tearing my hair out on this one...

    I'm on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
UAC is set to the lowest level 2

The other day I have problems with the search box in the start bar. It is more was to find excel or other office applications and also he wouldn't orders base as cmd or Notepad. Whenever I run a command it returns an error like this (not exact because I have the exact error message):

Windows cannot find ': search query = cmd'

I searched a little and tried to rebuild the index in Control Panel > Indexing Options. It does not work so I uninstalled Windows Search and reinstalled. What I found now, is that the indexing service would not start and if I tried manually start from services.msc I would get the following error:

Windows search Windows failed to start the service on the Local computer
Error 161: the specified path is not valid

The event log showed me this Application error:

    Cannot initialize the Gatherer service.

    Details:

The Temp folder is on a drive that is full or inaccessible. Free space on the drive or verify that you have permission write to the Temp folder. (HRESULT: 0 X 80070660) (0 x 80070660)

    Help!

    Thanks Samhrutha.
Your proposed solution of editing the registry is the only solution I found to this day and still work.
The only drawback that I want to emphasize is that this fix causes completely reset to its default settings of windows search.  Customizations to search what have been done by the user (e.g., windows search indexing user customizations options) will be lost.

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and occasionally experienced the same error message ( windows cannot find ': search query = XXX ", where XXX corresponds to my search query) try to search through windows when start menu search box.

Only recently, however, discovered one other cause possible/fix to this problem.
Specifically, I discovered that the error of windows search resulting from the ADDITION of a NETWORK LOCATION on the local computer (for example, via the menu option "Add a network location" that appears when you click the file menu in a window of windows Explorer displays the contents of the local computer (corresponding to the "COMPUTER" icon). The CENTER of my computer SYNC settings have been defined to disable the synchronization of network or file 'offline' and I suspect that this setting is also part the cause of the error of research.

To resolve this problem, simply tell windows search not to include the 'network' location in the search index.  To do this, one needs to access the settings of the windows search INDEX LOCATIONS (via Indexing Options-> change), then uncheck the box next to the network location (which on my computer starts as follows: oneindex: / / {s-1-5-21...)

After unchecking this box, click on the OK button and then CLOSE the button to exit the Options of Index window.  After that the error message should hopefully not return.  If so, try restarting the computer and research to test again.

    Hope this helps!

    :)

I fiddle with my startup programs and now I have this error message: "Windows could not start service on Local computer print spooler.  Error 1068: the dependency service or group could start. "There is no printer listed everywhere and nothing works.

    Hi Jkoryzna,

Thank you for choosing the Microsoft Answers forum.

To solve the problem, fix the dependency for the spooler service information.

Click Start, run and type the following text:

CMD /K SC CONFIG SPOOLER DEPEND = RPCSS

Alternatively, to achieve this by using the Registry Editor:

Click Start, run and type Regedit.exe

    Navigate to the following branch

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SYSTEM-CurrentControlSet-Services-spooler

In the right pane, double-click the DependOnService value

Delete existing data and then type RPCSS

    Close Regedit.exe.

  • Windows fails to start due to the registry error

Original title: this is a double whammy.

My windows XP crashed he keeps coming with the registry cannot load the hive (file0\systemroot\system32\config\software. I know there is a way to solve this problem through the reg change but do not know how. Also, I thought I could get around this by installing windows xp home edition on a different partition. the problem is that I forgot to put it as a dual boot. Now I have the same windows xp on a partition. Fortunately, we're on the C:\ drive and the other on the D:\drive. Help, please. Thank you

What does 'crashed' mean to you?

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

You will see messages like this if the file system is corrupt and XP just cannot play or read the file, then XP stops loading and complains.

Rarely, it means that the file is really corrupted or missing (unless it happened by human hands).

Run chkdsk /r from the Recovery Console XP will straighten the file system if nothing else is wrong and that I would always start by chkdsk/r when these types of messages are encountered.

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes the plug pulling, buttons power and removing the battery).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to begin to try to begin to try to modify or copy files to a hard drive that has a corrupted file system, so this must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk /r on your hard drives may solve your problem completely.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the command prompt.

Start by checking the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.  It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • Search service Windows fails to start with error-2147218174

Windows search has stopped working for my Outlook emails and other areas of the system, I went into the service panel and tried to start the Windows Search Service.  He was able to start with the error 2147218174.

My first question: what does this number mean?  This number gives a clue as to the cause?

I tried SFC, but system files are ok.

I ran the store search & index, but who could not fix, because the service does not start.

A discussion for a similar sounding problem, Microsoft asked a user to set a may be corrupt user profile by copying to a new.  But this has not fixed the problem for this user, so I probably shouldn't waste time with this step.

Windows system event log contains the following entry that could give an additional hint:

    DCOM got error '1053' attempt to start WSearch service with arguments "" to start the server: {9E175B6D-F52A-11D8-B9A5-505054503030}

Around the time this problem started to happen I upgraded a data disc to a hard drive different and changed the drive letter of this data.  Could he have mistaken the search services with the existing database of index and somehow prevents the service to start?

By chance I came across a possible solution.  I went to "Indexing" / Advanced Options / rebuild the Index and now the Windows Search Service shows that it is "started".

I am surprised that I have not read this suggestion on the forums of Windows support in response to questions from the other user has the same problem.

It will be interesting to see if it works in the long term...

  • Windows Pro L10 satellite did not start successfully

I have a satellite pro L10 at home which was working fine yesterday.
However, I'm going to turn in today and after the toshiba screen comes up I get a message on the screen saying "We apologize for the inconvinience, but windows did not start successfully" it gives then options such as safe mode, safe mode with network, last known configuration and start windows normally.

No matter what is selected, I get the loading windows screen but then it goes black and nothing happens.
Is there something I can do manually which will remedy this because stupidly

I have recent work here that has not yet been saved!
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

In my opinion, there is nothing to do because the operating system cannot start, even in SafeMode with network, last known configuration, etc.
You need to reinstall the operating system

If you want to backup the data on the HARD disk, you will need to access the HARD disk
You can create a bootable CD WinPE which help you to gain access to the HARD drive

Download WinPE image (use google) and create the bootable CD. You will need to burn the image to CD in order to get a bootable CD.
Can boot from this CD, backup the data on the external HARD disk and then reinstall windows

  • HP G60 laptop OEM Vista h. Prem startup failed to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the Cause. ... Running in a State of Limited Diagnostic... »

I have a 4 years old HP G60-235DX computer laptop Vista Home Premium OEM factory installed.  I had been doing the blue screen of death the last 8 months.  On Tuesday afternoon, I ran ChkDsk.  It was taking too long so I hit the power button.  now on startup, a message indicates "Windows Failed To Start."  A recent hardware or software change might be the Cause. "I tried to restore it to 4pmPST (Tuesday 7/2), but he sent the message:"your computer is running In A Limited Diagnostic State.  If you use the system restore in this Limited State, you can't undo the restore operation. "Expert Microsoft at the reception of the answer took me by (attempt), safe mode safe mode with network (failed attempt), last known good configuration (failed attempt).   He said that he needs me to order a HP recovery disk because the Vista system files are corrupted, damaged or missing.   Does this sound correct?  Try to get a good HP # order JUST a recovery disk.   I was the victim of the "have you tried to fix your own computer without HP offers you a recovery disk?   This is what happens when you try to fix it yourself without HP offers you a recovery disk. »

    Thank you.

    :)

Alternatively, to achieve this by using the Registry Editor:

Click Start, run and type Regedit.exe

    Navigate to the following branch

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SYSTEM-CurrentControlSet-Services-spooler

In the right pane, double-click the DependOnService value

Delete existing data and then type RPCSS

    Close Regedit.exe.

Original title: this is a double whammy.

I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

    DCOM got error '1053' attempt to start WSearch service with arguments "" to start the server: {9E175B6D-F52A-11D8-B9A5-505054503030}

The BIOS is the basic operating system built into the computer that handles reading and writing from disk and memory, seagate page server error 1075, as well as some other devices, seagate page server error 1075. That is most likely not your problem. The screen ends with the tell-tale error code: STOP: 0x000000A5. If you have that error code, and you just installed SP3, this is most likely your problem.

At the moment, I do not know for sure why this is happening, and I have not personally seen it, seagate page server error 1075.

Windows Update won't work for me, that whenever I try to update I get [error number: 0x8024400A], seagate page server error 1075. I think it's because I use Service Pack 2, or that's what I concluded after researching the problem, anyway.

This is not my real concern, however, seagate page server error 1075.

I'm puzzled why there is no intelppm.sys file in your directory Seagate page server error 1075 you recently returned to square one with your PC ("return to factory settings"), then you may as well run the patch from this page:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&softwareitem=PV-60484-2

and try the SP3 Setup file again.

But, first, let's be absolutely sure that we are both using the same terminology. Please answer the following questions:

    1. have you safely backed seagate page server error 1075 ALL your data?

    2. what method did you use to ride "back to factory settings?

When I discovered this problem, I was able to fix it, but can't remember if it was fixed without doing a complete restore of the avrprog error enterinf programming mode and starting over.

I start tearing my hair out on this one.

Free space on ultra dma crc errors drive or verify that you have seagate page server error 1075 write to the Temp folder.

Specifically, Seagate page server error 1075 discovered that the error of windows search resulting from the ADDITION of a NETWORK LOCATION on the local computer (for example, via the menu option "Add a network location" that appears when you click the file menu in a window of windows Explorer displays the contents of the local computer (corresponding to the "COMPUTER" icon). The CENTER of my computer SYNC settings have been defined to disable the synchronization of network or file jerror fly bird fly and I suspect that seagate page server error 1075 setting is also part the cause of the error of research.

To resolve this problem, simply tell windows search not to include the 'network' location in the search index.  To do this, one needs to access the settings of the windows search INDEX LOCATIONS (via Indexing Options-> change), then uncheck the box next to the network location (which on my computer starts as follows: oneindex: / / {s-1-5-21.)

After unchecking this box, click on the OK button and then CLOSE the button to exit the Options of Index window.  After that the error message should hopefully not return.  If so, try 5b00 canon printer error the computer and research to test again.

    Hope this helps!

Original title: this is a double whammy.

What does 'crashed' mean to you?

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc.

The question was preceded by a loss of power, seagate page server error 1075, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes the plug pulling, buttons power and removing the battery).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to begin to try to begin to try to modify or copy files to a hard drive that has a corrupted file system, so this must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk /r on your hard drives unpacking error 1 corrupted setup file hitman solve your problem completely.

Boot seagate page server error 1075 the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

When you start on the CD, seagate page server error 1075, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD.

    Installing Windows. going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS, seagate page server error 1075.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, seagate page server error 1075, cd, etc.

    DCOM got error '1053' attempt to start WSearch service with arguments "" to start the server: {9E175B6D-F52A-11D8-B9A5-505054503030}

Around the time this problem started to happen I upgraded a data disc to a hard drive different and changed the drive letter of this data.  Could he have mistaken the search services with the existing database of index and somehow prevents the service to start?

By chance I seagate page server error 1075 across a possible solution.  I went to "Indexing" / Advanced Options / rebuild the Index and now the Windows Search Service shows that it is "started".

I am surprised that I have not read this suggestion on the forums of Windows support in response to questions from the other user has the same problem.

It will be interesting to see if it works in the long term.

If you know the brand of the hard disk on the system, this disc has a free disk bootable verification utility, if you do not know the Player try to WD's SeaTools
