Can’t create a server through the game, what should I do?

To create a server, use "SacredReborn Gameserver.exe" in the game folder. Creating a server through the game not supported yet. This is because the EXE-server is more functional and comparing with it the ingame server simply not needed, so we just don't want to waste time for it : D

Error Initializing DirectX!

This error occurs if you set a resolution for ReBorn that your monitor does not support.

To solve this problem, set the resolution that your monitor supports, or run ReBorn in windowed mode.

Is ReBorn mod compatible with graphic modifications?

Yes, by default, any retexture is compatible with any balance modifications. Just put the changed textures in the "PAK" folder in the folder with the Sacred on which the ReBorn mod is installed.

However, there are cases when the retextures packs is intentionally made incompatible with any other modifications. In such cases, the problem is not in ReBorn, and all questions should be asked to the authors of such retexture packs. We can advise you to by yourself move the desired textures from this retexture packs to the "PAK" folder in the game folder.

I can’t kill a dragon (or another boss), I practically do no damage to it!

In ReBorn, each boss has strong and weak resistances, correctly choose your type of damage against them. The abilities of the heroes are balanced so that there is always the opportunity to receive the right damage type. Some unique weapons that can be obtained from side quests and from secret places have been rebalanced and allows to the player to get good weapons with magical, fiery or poisonous damage.

Finally, use tactics! Skillful control of the character can allow you not to take any damage at all, and if you doubt it, then take a look at the video tutorial on killing dragons in close combat without taking damage.

ReBorn crashes in the same place and / or with certain actions!

Make a screenshot of the full error report or copy the information from it (if you have Windows 10, you can find the report here: "Event viever" -> Windows Logs -> Application). Try to describe the actions preceding the crushing and/or the place where it happened.

Would be ideally if along with the error report you attach the DEBUG.LOG file from the game folder if it is not empty. To prevent it from being empty, open in the game folder the file “Settings.cfg” (you can do it with default notepad) and set the value “1” in the “LOG” line (if there is no line, add it).

Regular Sacred starts, but ReBorn doesn't!

Reason №1 — ReBorn settings are incorrectly written in the "Settings.cfg" file.

If you've added new lines manually, be sure to do so without errors. Check the spelling, make sure there are no extra spaces.

Reason №2 — DEP

Add "SacredReborn.exe" and/or "SacredReborn Gameserver.exe" to the DEP exceptions (Data Execution Prevention). You can easy find in internet how to do it (for example HERE).
Problem with DEP depends on its settings and appear because we added new code to protected section of the Sacred.

Lol, after pulling my hair out for a couple hours, and getting artifacts and general slow-down (after I finally got in,) I simply saved myself the headache, and installed it on my WinXP drive, and now it runs flawlessly. Thanks for the help!
BTW: The system was only about $6500 US, which was probably a little high, but I didn't really bargain shop, either. Still, not an issue with it yet (aside from running a little hot, but I'm looking into a 5.25" bay fan that I can place adjacent to my Video Cards.) Getting fairly good FPS in Crysis, but I think I have to tweak and clean up my cabling inside. I was impressed that not a single part was defective, I think I got really lucky.

Ralackk: Go to the games directory and right click on every .exe file in the main directory. Tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2, Disable Visual Themes, Disable Desktop Composition & Run This Program as Administrator". Then make sure you are running from the underworld expansion exe rather then the orginal, it has the orginal campaign and everything but is meant to work better with vista 64bit.
If this doesnt work you could always install it on your Windows xp version assuming thats 32bit.
Just want to add, thats a sick computer must off set you back a fair bit.

Lol, after pulling my hair out for a couple hours, garena runtime error getting artifacts and general slow-down (after I finally got in,) I simply saved myself the headache, and installed it on my WinXP drive, and now it runs flawlessly. Thanks for the help!
BTW: The system was only about $6500 US, which was probably a little high, but I didn't really bargain shop, either. Still, not an issue with it yet (aside from running a little hot, but I'm looking into a 5.25" bay fan that I can place adjacent to my Video Cards.) Getting fairly good FPS in Crysis, but I think I have to tweak and clean up my cabling inside. I was impressed that not a single part was defective, I think I got really lucky.

Ralackk: Go to the games directory and right click on every .exe file in the main directory. Tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2, Disable Visual Themes, Disable Desktop Composition & Run This Program as Administrator". Then make sure you are running from the underworld expansion exe rather then the orginal, it has the orginal campaign and everything but is meant to work better with vista 64bit.
If this doesnt work you could always install it on your Windows xp version assuming thats 32bit.
Just want to add, thats a sick computer must off set you back a fair bit.

solving Problems and answers to frequent questions

Can’t create a server through the game, what should I do?

To create a server, use "SacredReborn Gameserver.exe" in the game folder. Creating a server through the game not supported yet. This is because the EXE-server is more functional and comparing with it the ingame server simply not needed, so we just don't want to waste time for it : D

Error Initializing DirectX!

This error occurs if you set a resolution for ReBorn that your monitor does not support.

To solve this problem, set the resolution that your monitor supports, or run ReBorn in windowed mode.

Is ReBorn mod compatible with graphic modifications?

Yes, by default, any retexture is compatible with any balance modifications. Just put the changed textures in the "PAK" folder in the folder with the Sacred on which the ReBorn mod is installed.

However, there are cases when the retextures packs is intentionally made incompatible with any other modifications. In such cases, the problem is not in ReBorn, and all questions should be asked to the authors of such retexture packs. We can advise you to by yourself move the desired textures from this retexture packs to the "PAK" folder in the game folder.

I can’t kill a dragon (or another boss), I practically do no damage to it!

In ReBorn, each boss has strong and weak resistances, correctly choose your type of damage against them. The abilities of the heroes are balanced so that there is always the opportunity to receive the right damage type. Some unique weapons that can be obtained from side quests and from secret places have been rebalanced and allows to the player to get good weapons with magical, fiery or poisonous damage.

Finally, use tactics! Skillful control of the character can allow you not to take any damage at all, and if you doubt it, then take a look at the video tutorial on killing dragons in close combat without taking damage.

ReBorn crashes in the same place and / or with certain actions!

Make a screenshot of the full error report or copy the information from it (if you have Windows 10, you can find the report here: "Event viever" -> Windows Logs -> Application). Try to describe the actions preceding the crushing and/or the place where it happened.

Would be ideally if along with the error report you attach the DEBUG.LOG file from the game folder if it is not empty. To prevent it from being empty, open in the game folder the file “Settings.cfg” (you can do it with default notepad) and set the value “1” in the “LOG” line (if there is no line, add it).

Regular Sacred starts, but ReBorn doesn't!

Reason №1 — ReBorn settings are incorrectly written in the "Settings.cfg" file.

If you've added new lines manually, be sure to do so without errors. Check the spelling, make sure there are no extra spaces.

Reason №2 — DEP

Add "SacredReborn.exe" and/or "SacredReborn Gameserver.exe" to the DEP exceptions (Data Execution Prevention). You can easy find in internet how to do it (for example HERE).
Problem with DEP depends on its settings and appear because we added new code to protected section visual c error launching acmboot.exe the Sacred.
