Well, i tried installing this mod so i can play it but when i try to open it, i have this message "Platform Error: module failed to initialize" and then the game stops working and closes. It's been about two days that i'm trying to fix this issue, with no success. Then i came to this forum to see if you guys can help me.
While i was trying to get a solution to this error, i found out that the error comes from the Source sdk base 2006, i tried reinstalling steam, the sdk base, the mod, but it didn't worked, i also tried the solution that steam gave to me, that is disabling the in-game community and nothing worked.
When i try to open the sdk base, it says the same thing: "Platform Error: module failed to initialize" and then it appears another window saying that the game has stopped working, there it says that scenefilecache.dll made the crash.
When i open The Hidden, it says that client.dll made the crash, maybe that info is useful.
Did anyone got the same problem?

Nope, i just overclocked my video card.

Cause i was getting a similar error after OC and that + some instability pointed me in the direction of bad RAM timings. Try to put the gpu on defaults and see if it helps. Worth a try imho, but i doubt such a gpu demanding game as hl2 is causing crashes :D

Even without overclock the game isnt working. Well, i think the problem is in the SDK base 2006, 'cause when i try to open other games mades on this base, they also don't work.

Failed to set up SDK: Error:Module 'app': platform 'Google Inc.:Google APIs:21' not found

The (currently accepted) answer that suggest replacing with is NOT suitable if you have some legacy app still using Google Map v1 (for example).

If you are in this situation you REALLY need to compile against or 23 etc...

The solution here is to

Step 1

Open the old SDK manager interface clicking the Launch Standalone SDK Manager link below the Android Studio SDK Manager or by executing from command line to open it directly.

Then locate Google APIs for the SDK version you need and install it:

screenshot of the SDK Manager

That package is hidden, for some reason, inside Android Studio and I expect Google will remove it at some point. Currently the SDK 24 one (Marshmallow) is available but the 25 (Nougat) is not, they may add it in the future, or not. We will have to wait and see.

If you are in this situation and Google decide to stop providing it you'll have to rewrite the functionality using maps v2.

Step 2

Even after doing this and cleaning + gradle resync you'll get this error From Android Studio:

But it will compile if you try to do it from the command line ().

The reason has apparently something to do with the Android Studio embedded Java JRE. To make it compile inside Android Studio open the Project Structure from Android Studio and provide a custom path for a JDK you installed on your system (you must install a OpenJDK / OracleJDK on your computer).

NOTE: it may be needed to navigate to the location instead of copying the path for Android studio to take the change. Do not pick the directory, pick the JDK (folder containing ).

WARNING: this change is not specific to the project but will be applied to Android Studio itself and used on any other project.
