How to Fix Opera mini Not Working problem in Mobile Tamil - VividTech

Hi People,

1.  Opera support has nothing about this to contribute; also Opeta has no "dep-comatbile" version of Opera, and to the best of my understanding, has no plans to develop a "DEP compatible" version either, in the future!.

2.As stated in my 5JUL12 text I performed those steps independently, before I read the post: nothing helps; nothing else helps either -- tried uninstalling, then reinstalling undersafe mode; tried safe mode with networking opera error failed to start apllication download and install "fresh" after uninstalling and restarting the PC -- indirectly it seems because Process Explorer shows Opera as <permanent DPE> even with "only windows components file system, etc": option selected and the PC then restarred; and I repeatedly and consistently get the ERROR MESSAGE,

3. previously tried to "disallow" Opera from DEP when I found the system was set to protect all -- this was after the MS Fixit repair of my Internet Explorer 8 installation -- but Fixit neglected to mention the activation of this s/w option.

4.  The "/no execute"  and the other editing bcedit (or something like taht) command was not recognized and was not executed. . .

5.  Once again this has only happened with OPERA -- and only with OPERA is 'C:\Program Files/Opera/*.*"  -- installing Opera on other drives works but slower, installing Opera on USB flashs drive works; installing [email protected] opera error failed to start apllication the C:\ root directory works, but not was well or as fast.  "Opera Next" the designtion for Opera beta works in all the ways Opera does, and doesn't run in C:\Program Files\Opera Next. . ." just as Opera doesn't . .

6.  My analogy is that this Opera DEP interaction is akin to a human auto-immune diseease -- DEP is or has mistakenly identified Opera as a Windows or system component, opera error failed to start apllication, application and/or folder according to the <DEP-permanent" designation displayed in SysInternals Process Explorer (version -- current 15.21?? 15.13 and 15.11 previously;

6.  The error message in all cases, when DEP shuts the application down, as described in MS technet or kB articles -- have read so many I am not sure which place the information came from because DEP identifies Opera as an aberrant Microsoft folder and application it will continue to force it to shutdown, hence the message, "[caps for contrast and legibility] -

"STARTUP ERROR"

"OPERA HAS FAILED TO ACCESS OF UPGRADE YOUR PROFILE.  THIS MAY HAVE OCCURRED BECAUSE YOUR COMPUTER HAS INSUFFICIENT RESOURCES AVAILABLE OR BECAUSE SOME FILES ARE LOCKED BY ANOTHER APPLICATION [sic~ ie. DEP is locking and shutting Opera down].  YOU MAY HAVE TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE OPERA WILL Opera error failed to start apllication AGAIN."

7.  Tha't my story and I'm sticking to it: the o/s has somehow mistakenly identiifed Opraa as a windows component, windows application, system file, etc.    and applied "Permanent DEP> status to it in the second DEP option (just the windows files and folders).

Sorry the last notes were seen, but these are more extensive and detailed, yet the bottom line is the same-- nothing works.

SO NOTHING WORKS  -- HAVE TRIED ALL THE OPTIONS SUGGESTEDD AND COVERED THE WAY IN WHICH THEY DON'T WORK;  SINCE DEP STATUS DOESN'T SHOW UP IN SAFE MODE/SAFE WITH NETWORKING IT SEEMS A POSSIBLE WORK AROUND, BUT THAT AVENUE IS NO MORE EFFECTIVE THAN ANY OTHER,

Thank you everyone.

You can do some manual cleanup of Opera first and then install it via the offline installer. (If you want.)

Delete "C:\Program Files\Opera" if it's there.

Delete "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\local\Programs\Opera" if it's there.

Delete all files and folders in "C:\windows\temp".

Delete all files and folders in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\local\temp".

Load up the Windows Task Scheduler and delete all the Opera tasks.

Delete any Opera shortcuts you see.

Unpin any Opera icons on the taskbar. (Then, restart Explorer via the task manager or just restart Windows.)

In the registry (via regedit) looks for Opera keys under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" and delete the Opera keys. That'll get rid of the Opera Opera uninstall entry. Look in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" too.

Delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Opera Software" if it's there.

Delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera Software" if it's there.

Delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet\OperaStable" if it's there.

Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet\OperaStable" if it's there.

Delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\OperaStable" if it's there.

Delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\OperaStable" if it's there.

Delete "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Classes\OperaStable" if it's there.

Delete "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software" and "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\local\Opera Software" to delete all your Opera profiles and data.

Delete any "OperaBeta" and "OperaDeveloper" keys and tasks etc. you see too if you want.

Download this specific setup file of Opera, launch it, click "options", opera error failed to start apllication, set "install path to "C:\Program Files\Opera", set "install for" to "all users", uncheck "import data from default browser", check "make Opera default browser" (if you want) and install.

Then, you should be good to go. If that still doesn't work, create a new windows user and try again there.
