Description

Users may encounter the following errors, installer error code 2753, potentially among others, when attempting to update or install the Intel® Killer™ Performance Suite:

  • Killer Performance Driver Suite cannot be installed with Killer Ethernet Performance Suite (or similar)
  • Error 1714 – the older version cannot be removed. Contact your technical support.
  • The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable…
  • Error 2753 – The File ‘xtendsoftapservice.exe’ is Not Marked for Installation
  • The installer appears to work, then the progress bar goes backward, and the installer fails.
  • The installer prompts for a .MSI file in a strange directory.
Resolution

This issue can be resolved by following these installer error code 2753 the latest Intel® Killer™ Performance Suite from Intel Download Center and keep it handy, to install when you’re finished uninstalling the old suite.

  • Double-click the installer for the newest suite. Let it fail. Do not restart your computer, even if asked.
  • Download Microsoft Troubleshooter tool for fixing problems that block programs from being installed or removed

  • Once you have both of those things downloaded, installer error code 2753, uninstall all Killer products from your Apps and Features menu, which you can access by right-clickingStart.

  • You may encounter that same error – Error 2753. The File ‘xtendsoftapservice.exe’ is Not Marked for Installation – and that is fine. When you do, skip that application, and uninstall any installer error code 2753 apps from Killer including Killer Drivers.
  • Now run the tool from Microsoft.
  • For the first menu, click Next

  • After a moment of “Detecting Problems,” it will ask if you are having a problem installing or uninstalling a program. Even if you are trying to update or install the Intel Killer Control Center, the actual problem is happening when the installer attempts to uninstall the old suite, installer error code 2753.   • At the next prompt, the program will ask you to choose from a list of programs. Find the Killer-related program on the list. It may not be the same as the one in this screenshot, but choose whichever Killer suite the program finds, and then click the Next button.

  • The tool will then proceed to erase the parts of the Killer suite that the installer was unable to remove from the registry. However, it is hard to duplicate that particular scenario, so providing a screenshot is not possible, but it is fairly self-explanatory.
  • Once the tool has finished doing its work, you will restart your machine once more, and then install the latest Intel Killer Control Center, which you downloaded previously.
  • If you are unable to fix the issue with this guide, try running through it again, but this time, choose Installing at step 8. This may help clear corrupted files that are not related to Killer components but are still preventing the install.
  • If you have any further questions, contact support.
  • The issue occurs due to Microsoft problems such as MSI service and missing permissions in temp folder.

    To solve the error, do the following:

    1. Go to Start > Run.
    2. Type services.msc in the field and click OK.

      Run

    3. Right-click the Windows Installer then click Stop.

      click Stop

    4. Go to C:\Windows\Temp directory and delete the contents installer error code 2753 the folder. (Ask permission to the customer to delete the contents on the folder).
    5. Proceed to C:\Windows directory.
    6. Right-click the Temp folder and select Properties.
    7. Go to the Security tab, click Edit, then click Add.
    8. Search Everyone in the field.

    This might be either due to installer error code 2753 issues with the Windows Installer service or it might be an issue installer error code 2753 the package that you have downloaded. So, I would suggest you to try downloading the package again and then try installing it.

    Let us try the following steps, installer error code 2753, and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Check the Windows Installer Service

    1. Press Windows + R keys and type service.msc.

    2. In the Service window scroll down and find the Windows Installer service. Double-click Windows Installer in the Services list to open its properties window.

    3. On the General tab, make sure the service is started under Service status.

    4. If the service was stopped, under Service status, then start the service by clicking on the Start button, and then click OK. 

    Step 2: Unregister and re-register the Windows Installer  

    • Press Windows + R to open Run.

    • In the run type the following command and installer error code 2753 on OK

                                MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER

    • Press Windows + R to open Run.

    • In the run type the following command and click on OK

                                 MSIEXEC /REGSERVER 

    • Now, try installing the package again and check.

    Error Message

    Note: This article pertains to ArcGIS versions 10.1 and 10.2, installer error code 2753. Later versions of ArcGIS may contain different functionality, as well as different names and locations for menus, commands and geoprocessing tools.

    When upgrading ArcGIS for Desktop, an error occurs during the installation process which prevents ArcGIS for Installer error code 2753 from being installed. The following errors may be displayed:

    The error is caused by an incomplete uninstallation of the previous version of ArcGIS for Desktop, which leaves behind borland runtime error 200 files and registration keys that are unable to be replaced by the newer version of ArcGIS for Desktop.

    Solution or Workaround

    An error appears when installing(or uninstalling) an Autodesk product (variations of the following error):

    "Internal Error 2753" is related to a Windows Installer failure. If this error appears on a Windows operating system, applications will not be installed.

    Solution:

    Clean the Windows Temp Folder:

    If using Windows XP:
    1. Select 'Run.'
    2. Type in %TEMP% and hit Enter. 
    3. Select all files in the Temp folder and delete.
    4. Reboot the system and perform uninstall.

    1. Cick in the Search bar above the Start button.
    2. Type %TEMP% then hit Enter.

    Windows Error 2753 occurs installer error code 2753 installation or uninstallation when a file in the Temp folder is recognized as a duplicate of a file in use. Clearing the Temp folder can resolve this error.


    1) Open your Start Menu.

    2) If you are using Windows XP, select ‘Run,’ and type in %TEMP% then hit Enter.  If you are using Windows Vista/7, click in the Search bar above the Start button and type %TEMP% then hit Enter.

    3) Select all files in the Temp folder and delete them.  If any files will not delete, just choose ‘Skip’ or ‘Okay.’

    4) Restart your computer.

    5) After your computer has restarted, repeat steps 1 – 3.

    6) You should now be able to install (or uninstall) your program without error.
