ImgBurn I/O Error Ako se radi o XGD3 igri onda ti je krivi Layer Break, mora da iskljucis, tebi je sada namesten na 1.913.760 a to je za XGD2 igre. I/O errors are generally caused by sucky discs or sucky laser You should also be using the BurnerMax Payload tool to write full XGD3's and. And then at 50% it shows an I/O error. I was told that my dvd-driver cannot record XGD3 games But then the guy who gave me this tutorial.

youtube video

Erro ao gravar ISO do Windows no DVD, ImgBurn

I o error xgd3 - opinion

im gonna make this quick and simple to understand

and just so were clear this method can be considred a ihas burn

ihas is the name of the dvd drive not the firmware on the drive

the name of the firmware is

c4eva's iXtreme Burner MAX Firmware

what were doing is flashing any dvd drive to burn one game at a time once u remove the disc or the drive resets the flash is gone

So What is XGD3? It stands for Xbox Game Disc 3 which started rolling out onto retail Xbox 360 games about a year +ago. Compared to an XGD2, the game partition was increased by 1GB. This was meant to help developers with the increased memory for new games but also to combat piracy. The full iso of an XGD3 game now exceeded the 8.5GB limit on typical DVD DL discs.

This led to the truncate burning method
This involved pretty much burning the game as you would an XGD2. Only difference is that you just write till you ran out of room and then discarded the remaining data.since the last 200mb had no game data only security checks (this was not live safe )

Things you need
- Image file of game (.iso) already properly stealth patched through ABGX (make sure autofix is set to lvl 3)
- DVD+R DL disc (highly recommended to choose verbatims)
- C4E’s BurnerMAX Payload Tool in association with Team Jungle & Team Xecuter
- Imgburn
- Kprobe2
-a compatible burner for the burnermax program
(any burner can be used if burner max is enabled on it try and find out)

links at end

Why verbatims? Because they are high-grade quality discs (considered the best from tests), and since you’re pushing the discs past what they were intended, you’re going to need them. Better quality burns means less chance of errors and less work for your laser. There is no real reason not to use them. So I’m going to be assuming you are using verbs for this TUT

the burner im using is a lite-on ETAU108

1)Put your blank DVD+R DL disc (should be a verbatim) into the burner and open Imgburn (ensure you have latest version). Now choose “Write image file to disc”

2)Find out which type of verbatim disc you have by looking at the box on the right. Beside MID it will either say mkm001 or mkm003. also check how much the free space is it should be 854.... bytes

after that run the burner max tool as admin (make sure you have a blank dvd dl inserted before you click the burner max button

click burner max button and it should say burner max is enabled

if it doesn't its should say burner max not enabled yet that means your drive is not compatible

so try a different burner (and i cant tell you what burners will work or not you'll have to try them for yourself )

after that the drive is enabled refresh the drive by tools>drive>refresh

the free space should have changed to 8738... bytes

now from here on all the setting are up to each person and the drive they have ill be tell you the setting i use but theses dont ensure a good burn for you (trial and error)

in other words your gonna have to play around with the settings and find what suits your drive

ok so now click the advance setting button

after that change the advance setting to suit your drive

i disable everything

my recommendation is to disable smart burn and online hyper tuning

next go into tools > settings

the enable or disable the items marked 2 and 3 also make sure layer break is set to calculate optimal

next go to i/o page two set buffer to 512

and turn on or off buffer recovery

select the source file make sure you choose the .dvd file

mine in the tut is fifa14complex.dvd

and that's it select the burn speed

if you can go for 2.4x use that if not use 4x

i use 3x because 2.4x isnt supported by my drive and 4x causes makes the burns cause an error

double check the settings

click burn

also make sure to turn off anyback ground processes and make sure you pc screen does not turn of or dim
and don't use the pc while burning it makes a difference

if this pop up appears just click no

Checking Burn Quality

Open up kprobe2. Leave all the default settings alone and only change the speed to 4x(xbox drives reads at 4x). Start the test and do what you did with Imgburn by closing all applications and not starting any new ones while the test is being done.
A good quality burn is one where PI max is less than 100 and PI avg is less than 5. PIF max less than 4 and PIF avg less than .20 (remember this is just a guideline, it is up to you to make the call if you think it is a good enough burn.)

also each burn depends on the game ... the pi max and pif max where considerable different

for gta v and fifa 14

this is a fifa 14 k probe result
also note that i set the read speed to max instead of 4x cause its faster

Tips and Tricks for ensuring good burns
- Make sure the iso is on your local hdd and not on some portable device.
- Reduce as many applications running on your comp. (you can use tsk mng to help with this)
- defrag hdd
- using a sata connection
- dont let your computer go to sleep/screensaver while waiting for burn

Tips and Tricks when getting poor burns
- try different media
- Try burning mkm003 at x2.4 or mkm001 at x4
- turning on or off OPC
- clearing OPC cache
- Play around enabling and disabling force/online hypertuning, OverSpeed, and SmartBurn in imgburn and/or EEPROM utility < ive never used this so i cant help you with it
- Changing buffer size, en/disabling buffer recovery.

if you have any problems post a reply on this and ill try helping you out dont forget to include the settings for the advance settings

Imgburn settings for xgd2 and xgd3 games set 2086912

Since many are troubled with their settings on ImgBurn, I decided to create this tutorial to share and help. These are the settings I do for my XGD2 and XGD3 games. I hope that this tutorial would help you in burning your Xbox 360 games successfully. By the way, I'm open for constructive criticism. Thanks XboxPirate.eu ImgBurn Settings Download ImgBurn here: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

Quote Always run the ISO of the game you want to burn on ABGX 360 to ensure that the ISO is fine and not corrupted

General Settings: • Click the search icon under "Source" and then browse and open the ".dvd" file of the game you want to burn • Under "Destination", select your DVD drive • Choose either 2.4x or 4x as your write speed (whichever is supported by your media and drive)

I do not configure anything on the I/O settings but you may if you want to. This is the suggested settings if you get I/O error on 40 - 50 % when burning XGD3 games on non Lite-On drive Thanks to LightStorm28 for the share

Quote Close all unneeded programs and don't run 'HEAVY' programs while burning.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I. XGD2 GAMES -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Go to "Tools" > "Settings" > "Write", and copy these settings below. Click "Ok" to save changes.

* There is no need for BurnerMAX Payload tool or special DVD burner such iHAS to burn XGD2

games, meaning any dual-layer burner will burn them successfully.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

II. XGD3 GAMES --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A. For Truncating and Overburning XGD3 Games: If you do not have a compatible DVD drive for BurnerMAX Payload Tool or an iHAS B Revision Burner flashed with BurnerMAX firmware,

then these settings could be for you. Go to "Tools" > "Settings" > "Write", and copy these settings below. Click "Ok" to save changes.

There will be an alert box which will pop-up asking if you want to truncate or overburn the burning method since there is no enough space on the disc to burn the image.

Truncate method were formerly been recommended but because new games tends to give "Unrecognized" / "Unreadable" disc error when being truncated, overburn became more reliable than truncate method for 2013 games. *I would only recommend truncate method if you'll be burning 2011 and 2012 XGD3 games (except for Kingdom Of Amalur: Reckoning and Hitman Absolution since they give issues when being truncated)

For 2013 games, it is highly recommended to choose "Overburn"

If you chose "Overburn", you will get an I/O error when you reach 97% and you'll see that there are 20 retries on ImgBurn log, just click "Cancel" on this pop-up to get to finalizing disc process

Choose "Yes" if asked to try and perform "Close Track / Session / Disc" functions

B. For BurnerMAX Payload Tool

*It is highly recommended that you use Verbatim for successful burning and for longer disc readability since non-verbatim or cheap discs may not work.

Go to "Tools" > "Settings" > "Write", and copy these settings below. Click "Ok" to save changes.

If you have a Lite-On DVD Drive, go to "Change Advanced Settings"

Go to Lite-On tab then: • • • • •

Enable Force HyperTuning Disable Online HyperTuning Disable OverSpeed Enable SmartBurn Do not Clear OPC History

You can also go here if you want a thorough tutorial on how to burn XGD3 games using BurnerMAX payload tool: http://xboxpirate.eu/forums/topic/1017-how-to-burn-xgd3-games-using-burner-max-p ayload-tool/

C. For Flashed iHAS and Cross-Flashed DVD Burner

*It is highly recommended that you use Verbatim for successful burning and for longer disc readability. This settings may only work for media with disc ID of "UMEDISC DL1-064", "MKM-001-000" and "MKM-003-000" Go to "Tools" > "Settings" > "Write", and copy these settings below. Click "Ok" to save changes.

Go to "Change Advanced Settings"

Xbox 360 technical specifications

Overview of the technical specifications of the Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 technical specifications describe the various components of the Xbox 360 video game console.

The console features a port on the top when vertical (left side when horizontal) to which a custom-housed hard disk drive unit can be attached in sizes of either 20, 60, 120, 250, 320, 500 GB;[1] and as of April 2015 all 2.5" SATA Hard Drives up to 2 TB,[2][3] the user can use the format option from system settings to utilize the new HDD. Inside, the Xbox 360 uses the triple-core IBM designed Xenon as its CPU, with each core capable of simultaneously processing two threads, and can therefore operate on up to six threads at once.[4]Graphics processing is handled by the ATIXenos, which has 10 MB of eDRAM.[5][6][7] Its main memory pool is 512 MB[8] in size.

Central processing unit[edit]

Main article: Xenon (processor)

Xbox 360 took a different approach to hardware compared to its predecessor. The XCPU, named Xenon at Microsoft and "Waternoose" at IBM, is a custom triple-core 64-bit PowerPC-based design by IBM. The CPU emphasized high floating point performance through multiple FPU and SIMDvector processors in each core. The SIMD vector processor (VMX128) was modified for the Xbox to include a dot-product instruction. The dot-product instruction took far less latency than discrete instructions. The VMX128 was also modified by the addition of direct 3D (D3D) compressed data format. This led to an approximate 50 percent savings in required band-width and memory footprint making the CPU having a theoretical peak performance of 115.2 GFLOPS, being capable of 9.6 billion dot products per second. Each core of the CPU was capable of simultaneous multithreading and was clocked at 3.2 GHz. However, to reduce CPU die size, complexity, cost, and power demands, the processor used in-order execution in contrast to the Intel Coppermine 128-based Pentium III used in the original Xbox, which used more complex out-of-order execution. The original chip used a 90 nm process, although a newer 65 nm processSOI revision was implemented on later models, which was in-turn superseded by a 45 nm combined CPU and GPU chip. A 21.6 GB/s front side bus, aggregated 10.8 GB/s upstream and downstream, connected Xenon with the graphics processor/northbridge. Xenon was equipped with an 8th way set associative 1 MBLevel 2 cache on-die running at half CPU clock speed. This cache was shared amongst the three CPU cores.[9] Each core had separate L1 caches, each containing a two-way set associative 32-Kbyte L1 instruction cache and a four-way set associative 32-Kbyte L1 data cache. The write-through data cache did not allocate cache lines on writes. The CPU also contained ROM storing Microsoft private encrypted keys, used to decrypt game data. The heat sink implemented to cool the Xenon CPU was composed of aluminum fins with a copper base, and a heat pipe. Newer revisions, which had a smaller core, do not feature the heat pipe or copper base. The heat sink was cooled by two 70 mm fans at the rear of the console on original-style consoles, while a single fan mounted on the side of the consoles was used in Xbox 360 S consoles. There were several types of fan used in Xbox 360s, which were produced by Nidec, Sunon, and Delta Electronics.

CPU data streaming[edit]

During read streaming into the CPU, a custom prefetch instruction, extended data cache block touch (xDCBT) prefetches data directly to the L1 data cache of the intended core, which skips putting the data in the L2 cache to avoid thrashing the L2 cache. Writes streaming from each core skip the L1 cache, due to its no-write allocation (avoids thrashing of high-bandwidth, transient, write-only data streams on the L1 cache), and goes directly to the L2 cache. The system allows for the GPU to directly read data produced by the CPU without going to main memory. In this specific case of data streaming, called Xbox procedural synthesis (XPS), the CPU is effectively a data decompressor, generating geometry on-the-fly for consumption by the GPU 3D core.[10]

Graphics processing unit[edit]

Main article: Xenos (graphics chip)

While the first Xbox's graphics processing unit was produced by Nvidia, the Xbox 360 had a chip designed by ATI called Xenos. The chip was developed under the name "C1" and "R500" was often used to refer to it.[11] The GPU package contains two separate silicon dies, each built on a 90 nm process with a clock speed of 500 MHz; the GPU proper, manufactured by TSMC and a 10 MB eDRAM daughter-die, manufactured by NEC. Thanks to the daughter die, the Xenos can do 4× MSAA, z-buffering, and alpha blending with no appreciable performance penalty on the GPU.[12] The GPU also houses additional capabilities typically separated into a motherboardchipset in PC systems, effectively replacing the northbridge chip. It has a theoretical peak of 240 GFLOPS. Due to the GPU frequently overheating in early motherboard models, Microsoft revised the GPU heat sink in order to eliminate thermal throttling.

Memory and system bandwidth[edit]

Xbox 360 bandwidth and hardware scheme.

The console features 512 MB of GDDR3RAM clocked at 700 MHz with an effective transmission rate of 1.4 GHz on a 128-bit bus. The memory is shared by the CPU and the GPU via the unified memory architecture. This memory is produced by either Samsung or Qimonda.

According to Mark Rein of Epic Games, Microsoft had originally planned on using only 256 MB of RAM, but the decision to increase it was based on Epic's upcoming Gears of War title. Epic had been arguing for Microsoft to increase the memory for some time, and Tim Sweeney had sent Microsoft screenshots of what Gears would look like at 256 MB, and then at their proposed 512 MB. Shortly thereafter, Epic was the first studio told of new 512 MB size specification and claimed it cost them a billion dollars but felt it was better for gamers.[13]

The Xbox 360 has an extensive amount of bandwidth in comparison to its competition;[14] however, this statistic includes the eDRAM logic to memory bandwidth, and not internal CPU bandwidths. The eDRAM internal logic to its internal memory bandwidth is 256 GB/s. The high bandwidth is used primarily for z-buffering, alpha blending, and antialiasing; it saves time and space on the GPU die. Between the eDRAM die and the GPU, data is transferred at 32 GB/s.[15] The memory interface bus has a bandwidth of 22.40 GB/s and the Southbridge a bandwidth of 0.5 GB/s.

Audio and video[edit]

All games made for the Xbox 360 are required to support at least Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. The console works with over 256 audio channels and 320 independent decompression channels using 32-bit processing for audio, with support for 48 kHz 16-bit sound. Sound files for games are encoded using Microsoft's XMA audio format. An MPEG-2 decoder is included for DVD video playback. VC-1 or WMV is used for streaming video and other video is compressed using VC-1 at non-HDNTSC and PAL resolutions or WMV HD. The Xbox 360 also supports H.263 and H.264MPEG-4 videos. Unlike the original Xbox, voice communication is handled by the console, not by the game code, allowing for cross-game communication. There is no voice echo to game players on the same console; voice only goes to remote consoles.

Initially there were no digital video outputs such as DVI or HDMI on the Xbox 360; instead, HD-quality output could only be produced over YPBPRcomponent video (used by both the 3 RCA component cable and the Japanese D-terminal cable) and later VGA (via a software update). An HDMI port was introduced to the Xbox 360 by July 2007 with the introduction of the Elite model. All Xbox 360 SKUs currently manufactured feature an HDMI port. A wide array of SDTV and HDTV resolutions are supported by the console hardware;[16] up to 1080p after the October 2006 software upgrade.[17] While most games are rendered natively at 720p, the video from all games can be scaled by the hardware to whatever resolution the user has set in the console's settings; from 480i NTSC and 576i PAL all the way to 1080p HDTV.

DVD storage[edit]

Xbox 360 is equipped with a 12× DVD drive, with a data transfer rate of 16.5 MB/s.[18] The original production DVD drives were manufactured by LG, Samsung, and Sony. Beginning in November 2006, a new model the BenQ VAD6038 was introduced, which is said to run faster than the previous models and, in addition, is much quieter.[19] There is a new drive by LiteOn.[20]

Games are stored on standard 8.5 GBdual-layerDVD-ROMs; however initially only 7.3 GB (6.8 GiB) were allocated to be used for games on the "Xbox Game Disc 2" (XGD2) early format. With the XGD3 later format introduced in 2011, the usable space was brought up to 8.3 GB (7.8 GiB).[21][22] This marked an increase in available space for games from 85% to nearly 98%. In both formats, the unallocated space for games is used for anti-piracy security software.[22]

The option to apply a regional lockout to games is available to publishers, although DVD region codes are always enforced for movies. Microsoft has implemented methods to prevent hacking through the drive. Later drive models have the external debug triggering removed and black hard glue added to cover all the chip and controller pins.[23] The drive is able to read both DVD±R and DVD±RW in addition to being able to play DVD-Video out of the box, unlike its predecessor, which required the purchase of an add-on remote. The system is also capable of playing standard CDs along with CD-R/RW, CD-DA, CD-ROM XA, CD-Extra, WMA-CD, MP3-CD, and JPEGPhoto CD.[24] Some users reported problems with the disc drive, as when a user changes the console's orientation, the inserted disc may brush against the drive's pickup assembly and incur scratches to it.[25] The users manual advises against changing the console's position while there is a disc in the drive. Other users report experiencing disc scratching during normal horizontal usage.

Announced at CES 2006 and first publicly shown at E3 2006, an external HD DVD drive was released in North America on November 7, 2006 (for US$199.99) and in Japan on November 17, 2006 (for ¥19,800). In the UK, France and Germany, the HD DVD drive was released for €199.99/£129.99.[26] The HD DVD drive was bundled for a limited time with an Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote, as well as an HD DVD copy of Peter Jackson's King Kong.[26] The drive plays HD DVD movies, although all Xbox 360 games will remain on the DVD format.[27] Microsoft had no plans to include an internal HD DVD player in future Xbox 360 designs.[28] The drive connects to the Xbox 360 via USB and contains two integrated USB ports on the rear. Games can not be played on the HD DVD drive. Microsoft has since discontinued the HD DVD add-on since the format was officially dropped by Toshiba.[29]

Hard drive storage[edit]

Original style Xbox 360 hard drives

See also: Xbox 360 accessories → Detachable hard drives

The Xbox 360 uses standard 2.5" SATAhard disk drives (HDDs) held within custom enclosures. These units have a custom connector to facilitate connection to the Xbox 360 and the drives themselves feature custom firmware (making stand-alone drives incompatible). The drives are detachable, making it possible to move data from one console to another, and to upgrade the size of drive on a console. The hard drives themselves are manufactured by various companies, including Fujitsu, Seagate, Samsung, Hitachi and Western Digital. Certain Western Digital hard disk drives can be modified with a program called HDDHackr to be used with the Xbox 360.[30]

Approximately 7 GB are reserved for system use (4 GB of that portion are reserved for game title caching and other hard drive specific elements in games that support the hard drive, and an additional 2 GB are reserved for use by the Xbox 360 backwards-compatibility software). The original Pro configuration of the system came with a 20 GB hard drive, which was also available to purchase separately (for the Core model, and later the Arcade model, which did not include a HDD). This was upgraded to 60 GB in September 2008, and the 60 GB HDD was also made available at retail. In April 2007, Microsoft released the Elite console, which included a black 120 GB HDD; a grey 120 GB drive was also later made available at retail. In November 2009, Microsoft released the "Super Elite" console, as a bundle with the highly anticipated game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.[31] This console was like the typical black Elite, but with Call of Duty graphics added and for the first time included a 250 GB hard drive (which holds up to 228 GB of data after system information is stored). This was followed by various other 250 GB special/limited edition bundles. No standard (non-special edition) configuration of the original console ever included a 250 GB drive, but they were later made available at retail.

In June 2010, Microsoft announced a new version of the console, the Xbox 360 S, which used a new form factor for its 250 GB hard drives. As such, original style hard drives cannot be used in Xbox 360 S consoles, and vice versa, without modification. In June 2011, Microsoft announced a specially branded Gears of War 3 Limited Collector's Edition Xbox 360 S console to coincide with the launch of Gears of War 3. At 320 GB, the included hard drive is the largest available for/with the original Xbox 360 model.[32]

In August 2014, Microsoft announced and released a new 500 GB hard drive for the Xbox 360 S console model,[33] currently the largest hard drive available for or with any Xbox 360 model.

Networking[edit]

All versions of the Xbox 360 come with a built-in 10 to 100Mbit/s wired Ethernet network adapter. The "Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter"[34] (identifiable as white with one antenna) connects via a USB port and adds support for 802.11a and 802.11b/gWi-Fi.[35] This was replaced by the "Wireless N Adapter" (black with two antennas), which added support for 802.11n on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.[36] The original Xbox 360 model features a pair of notches on the rear of the console, above the USB socket, to which the adapter can be attached. Alternatively, a pair of fold-out feet on the adapter can be used to stand it up separately.

The Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E consoles feature built-in support for 802.11b/g/n but on the 2.4 GHz band only. The Wireless and Wireless N Adapters can be used on these models to add support for the 5 GHz band (albeit the former losing support for 802.11n over 2.4 GHz) and will, in some cases, offer "... better range and bandwidth compared with the internal wireless feature ..."[37] If this adapter is connected, the internal wireless adapter is disabled. The S and E models lack the notches for the adapter.

Motherboards[edit]

Microsoft avoids outright announcements of new motherboard production runs and their subsequent appearance in the market in part due to uneven distribution causing buyer's remorse and to prevent purchaser delay.[38] However, several major (and many minor) motherboard revisions are introduced in an attempt to build systems more cheaply (and thus increase profits), and as a happy side effect, to allow them to run cooler while consuming less power. Note that there is no clear divide between the appearance of motherboard revisions in retail. Due to individual stock production, distribution and rotation, it may become difficult to find specific versions.[39]

The power connectors on the back of these systems incorporate a "keying" system that will prevent plugging a (newer) lower-rated power supply into an older system (which needs more power).[40] The keying system does, however, allow older power supplies to be connected to newer systems, as this poses no problem. The initial motherboard version was known as "Xenon" and used a 203 watt power supply, and lacked an HDMI video port. Later models had an improved GPU heatsink. The "Zephyr" revision was a redesigned motherboard adding the HANA[1] and HDMI, but used the same 90 nm CPU as the Xenon. It did however, move to an 80 nm GPU and eDRAM, with an improved GPU heatsink. The "Falcon" incorporated a newer 65 nm CPU, and required less power so it came packaged with a 175 watt power supply. "Jasper" (released late November 2008) used both a 65 nm CPU and GPU, as well as 16, 256 or 512 MB of on-board flash memory. (This was to help run a then-recent Dashboard update. Without the addition of this internal memory, a hard disk drive or memory card is required.) The "Jasper" revision required even less power, and so the power supply was also reduced to 150 watts. The "Kronos" revision is a minor upgrade of the "Jasper", moving to a new "Kronos1" GPU with a 65 nm eDRAM, and adding a new Ring of Light/RF board called "XFreedom". Due to all dies now being at 65 nm, the GPU heatsink returned to the original one used on the "Xenon". Xbox 360 S introduced a new motherboard version called "Trinity" with a 45 nm integrated CPU, GPU, and eDRAM.[41] It consisted of 2 dies, one for the XCGPU, and one for the eDRAM. In 2011 a second model of the Xbox 360 S motherboard has been released known as "Corona" which integrates the HANA chip into the southbridge chip, and used either the traditional 16MB NAND, or a 4GB "Phison" eMMC. "Corona" was used in both the Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E. In August 2014, the "Winchester" model was released, with a new XCGPU. This chip removes the heatspreader and integrated the eDRAM into the main die on the XCGPU. This version also patches the "Reset Glitch Hack".

Connectivity to accessories[edit]

An Xbox 360 Wireless Controller

See also: Xbox 360 accessories

The Xbox 360 features three USB 2.0 ports (two on the front, one on the back).[24] The Xbox 360 S, however, has five USB 2.0 ports (two on the front, three in the back) along with a dedicated Kinect port. The Xbox 360 E has four ports (two on the front, two on the back) and a dedicated Kinect port. These are used for connection of accessories such as wired controllers, the wireless networking adapter, the Xbox Live Vision camera and USB storage devices. Although the number of wired controllers is limited by the number of ports, up to four may be used through the use of a USB hub.

The Xbox 360 also features wireless connectivity of accessories via a proprietary 2.4 GHz radio system. This is mainly used to connect the official wireless controllers, but is also used for other devices such as the wireless racing wheel and wireless headsets. With the exception of some rhythm game controllers, and the Fanatec CSR wheel, this wireless connectivity is limited to first-party Microsoft accessories. The console can connect to Xbox Live over the Internet through a variety of networking interfaces.

Original style consoles also have two front-mounted memory card slots for the system's proprietary Memory Unit. These can be used to transfer profile and game data from one Xbox 360 to another. Memory Units up to 512 MB are available from Microsoft. The "Arcade" model formerly came with a 256 MB Memory Unit, but with the Jasper motherboard revision of September 2008, the "Arcade" model began to include 256 MB of built-in flash memory. This was later increased to 512 MB. The memory card slots were replaced with USB ports on the newer Xbox 360 S models.

The Universal Media Remote can be used to control several functions of the console, including the Windows Media Center functions if connected to the network. It communicates with the console via infrared through a receiver port on the front of the console. All standard controllers for the system feature a 2.5 mm headset jack to allow the use of wired headsets for voice chatting. The 2.5mm jack can also accept the chatpad accessory. Various other accessories for the console exist, such as decorative faceplates to change the physical appearance of the console.

Physical appearance[edit]

Left: Xbox 360 Elite, Right: Xbox 360 S with new-style controller

The physical outline of the original style Xbox 360 is 31 by 8 by 26.8 centimetres (12.2 in × 3.1 in × 10.6 in)[43] and is similar in form factor to its predecessor. It is slightly slimmer in every dimension and is slightly concave, while the original Xbox was noticeably convex.

It comes as standard in either black or white, with other colors available as special editions. It was designed by Astro Studios in cooperation with Hers Experimental Design Laboratory.[44] The original case has a concaveness to it; Astro Studios' president Brett Lovelady said that part of this was to keep an "X" shape to the console when looked at from the front, while it also served to help with cooling the system components, as the narrower section helped the console to "inhale" more air, particularly when placed in the vertical orientation.[45]

In June 2010 a redesign of the console, known as the Xbox 360 S,[46] was announced. This version of the console retains the same basic shape but is noticeably smaller and more angular than the original version. It comes as standard in either matte or glossy black; like its predecessor, other colors are available as special editions.

The front of the console features a "ring of light" that displays four illuminated quadrants in either red or green (Some special editions replaced the green for blue). When the lights turn red, the console has encountered an error, with the number of sectors illuminated informing the user what category the error falls into. Since the redesign of the console removed the red LEDs, this error reporting system is no longer used.

The original Xbox 360 weighs approximately 3.5 kilograms (7.7 lb),[43] about 350 grams heavier than the new Xbox. The new version weighs in at 2.9 kilograms (6.4 lb).[47]

Power supply[edit]

The console uses an external power supply with a 10 A/100–120 V or 5 A/220-230 V (AC) input and DC output rated at 203/175/150/130/115 W (depending on revision). An estimated 2 W of power are used while the older versions of console are in standby mode giving a yearly usage of approximately 17.5 kWh.[48] The new version uses around 0.5W while in standby.[47] Saving the console size and weight, the power supply displaces 1,300 cubic centimetres (79 cu in).[49] Xbox 360 power supplies are designed with keys in the plug to be forwards, but not backwards compatible. For example, a 203 watt supply would fit and work on a 175 watt console, but not the other way around.[42]

Setup:

1. Install MacOS (my case, High Sierra, useless for this GPU, only natively supported in Catalina, 10.15 and higher, as I read about it, but haven´t tried on Mojave yet)

1.1 Remember to download and install (later in step 2.1) drivers for your E-GPU enclosure and make it readily available e.g. in a USB stick, together with the GPU drivers, EFI files, and Windows 10 ISO mentioned below!!! Doing this in the first place could have saved me weeks of trials and errors as I didnt see any mentioning to E-GPU enclosure drivers on any guide!!!)

2. In MacOS, copy Goalque automate EFI to a FAT 24MB partition that you create in a USB stick AND on your Mac HDD using Disk Utility. Although I read in numerous guides that the partition could be either one, none individually worked for me, not without having both said partitions available at boot - so, besides Windows and MacOS HDD boot icons, will also appear, one EFI boot option in your MacHDD, and another EFI boot option, from your USB stick, a yellow icon, being that only by choosing the USB boot option, does the egpu activate and allows Windows to see it and configure it).

2.1 Install Windows 10 using bootcamp (apparently, no higher than the version indicated by the nice guy at bootcampdrivers.com, which can be downloaded using a link he provided there, see first video in his website. His tips of advice were good for me, but I could never following his guide alone, get my MBP to work with my EGPU... he WAS setting up a desktop like Mac machine in his video tutorial. Anyway, stick to his Windows 10 maximum version and general pieces of advice.) and use DDU, UPDATE DDU TO LATEST VERSION, remove ALL drivers, namely, AMD, INTEL, and NVIDIA, both AUDIO and GPU. My screen did not go black after this. Check all items in DDU, as indicated in his videoclip by the bootcampdrivers.com nice guy. But do UPDATE DDU to latest version first.

3. Shut down MBP, insert USB stick with EFI boot, hold Option and select EFI boot, press enter and "Q" which will prompt you to choose some options. I chose "save" and "exit to windows" but the system always stalled when doing so...

3.1 In the process of insisting with MBP booting up this way, NEVER wait for too long for Windows 10 to boot up with your EGPU on... It may well burn in your precious OLED screen, as it did to mine, fortunately, only temporarily... for me, it solved the burn in OLED screen problem, being burnt in a huge Windows 10 boot up logo, which was visible everywhere, MacOS included... by reinstalling MacOS (happened to be original shipped high Sierra when long pressing at boot, command+R, but the version doesn´t matter for this topic purpose/setup, and it seems to have helped to fix the burn-in Windows 10 logo in the middle of the screen, to have a dead slow 4G internet, as the spinning globe was apparently healing the Windows 10 logo for an hour or so... OMG!!! Dont let this happen to you!!!)

4. Finally it somehow worked, as I kept trying to, while using the EFI boot via USB STICK booting into Windows, and when booted successfully, without green / blue artifacts in step 3 (AGAIN CAREFUL WITH HOW LONG - never more than a few minutes, I would say - YOU LEAVE YOUR MBP UNATTENDED DUE TO POSSIBLE BURN IN of Windows 10 logo on your MBP hardware, expensive replacement OLED screen) checking "device manager", and finally allowing installing the LATEST OFFICIAL (not the bootcampdrivers.com ones, these didnt work for me) drivers from the GPU manufacturer website/drivers download page.

This has been a long process and I hope my tips of advice can help someone, as this is really cool, an old MBP playing recent / graphically demanding games at very high or even ultra settings...

Currently, only way to get to Windows detecting egpu is, hold option key until the boot icons appear, choose USB EFI boot, while keeping your external monitor ON, see Windows 10 logo appearing on MBP screen, being stuck there apparently forever, unless that, seconds later, Windows desktop appearing on external monitor, then go to choose display, project only on screen 2, then Windows 10 logo on MBP disappears, black lit screen on MBP, but everything works perfectly in Windows, including AMD software, 100% work.

If you happen to get error code 43 in Windows 10, that may well be due to the port you used and installed successfully is no longer being used. Try using the port that first worked for your setup (using second TB3 port from the monitor, only 2 TB3 ports on my MBP model) . This worked for me, error 43 gone (no more exclamation mark over my GPU in device manager graphics, correctly showing functioning i-gpu and e-gpu). Then, go to choose display, cycle from monitor 1 to monitor 2 to hide the stuck windows 10 logo on MBP screen, projecting picture on external monitor only.

BTW, this GPU has very bad rap as first results for keywords "Asus 5700 xt" on youtube, for no reason, namely, temperatures-wise, and energy consumption.wise (my Asus XG Station Pro provides more than enough cooling, and juice, for this GPU... around 330W, although not enough to power my MBP as it only provides around 15W... only enough to keep MBP charged with light tasks, and clearly insufficient to keep it charged at 100% if playing games, instead dropping to 10% after one hour gaming)... About temperatures, it never rose above 70 degrees, so, one of youtube guy´s opinion ranting at the 105 degrees celsius that this GPU would allegedly reach while playing F1 game, I wonder, would his GPU be faulty, as mine never peaked those temps, inside my well ventilated EGPU enclosure) so, that opinion may be somehow outdated, as my GPU is not the "revised" version of the graphic card, and he should probably try it out with another EGPU, not faulty, and post an update to his terrible opinion about it.

In fact, even playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider at HIGHEST, I get a comfy 30-60 FPS, GPU temp peaking at 90 degrees celsius. Same exact results for Rise of the Tomb Raider. Playing said 2013 GRID 2, at Ultra, I get around 150 FPS. CPU ranges from around 30 to 100%, battery lasts, when plugged in only GPU TB3 cable, providing only 15w power to MBP, for well over 2 hours. Very satisfied with my purchases, considering even buying a 2080 when the time is right, for the extra "bling" in-game.

Capture

I may come here once in a while to revise this post, perfecting it or updating it with FPS screenshots, but I can tell you, from having played GRID 2 at full hd, Ultra settings, averaging 126+ fps, this is very capable EGPU solution.

im gonna make this quick and simple to understand

and just so were clear this method can be considred a ihas burn

ihas is the name of the dvd drive not the firmware on the drive

the name of the firmware is

c4eva's iXtreme Burner MAX Firmware

what i o error xgd3 doing is flashing any dvd drive to burn one game at a time once u remove the disc or the drive resets the flash is gone

This involved i o error xgd3 much i o error xgd3 the game as you would an XGD2.

Because they are high-grade quality discs (considered the best from tests), i o error xgd3, and since you’re pushing the discs past what they were intended, you’re going to need them. Better quality burns means less chance of errors and less work for your laser. There is no real reason not to use them, i o error xgd3. So I’m going to be assuming you are using verbs for this TUT

the scriptomatic windows 7 error im using is a lite-on ETAU108

1)Put your blank DVD+R DL disc (should be a verbatim) into the burner and open Imgburn (ensure you have latest version), i o error xgd3. Now choose “Write image file to disc”

2)Find out which type of verbatim disc you have by looking at the box on the right. Beside MID it will either say mkm001 or mkm003, i o error xgd3. also check how much the free space is it should be 854. bytes

after that run the burner max tool as admin (make sure you have a blank dvd dl inserted before you click the burner max button

click burner max button i o error xgd3 it should say burner max is enabled

if it doesn't its should say burner max not enabled yet that means your drive is not compatible

so try a different burner (and i cant tell you what burners will work or not you'll have to try them for yourself )

after that the drive is enabled refresh the drive by tools>drive>refresh

the free space should have changed to 8738. bytes

now from here on all the setting are up to each person and the drive they have ill be tell you the setting i use but theses dont ensure a good burn for you (trial and error)

in other words your gonna have to play around with the settings and find what suits your drive

ok so now click the advance setting button

after that change the advance setting to suit your drive

i disable everything

my recommendation is to disable smart burn and online hyper tuning

next go into tools > settings

the enable or disable the items marked 2 and 3 also make sure layer break is set to calculate optimal

next go to i/o page two set buffer to 512

and turn on or off buffer recovery

select the source file make sure you choose the .dvd file

mine in the tut is fifa14complex.dvd

and that's it select the burn speed

if you can go for 2.4x use that if not use 4x

i use 3x because 2.4x isnt supported by my drive and 4x causes makes the burns cause an error

double check the settings

click burn

also make sure to turn off anyback ground processes and make sure you pc screen does not turn of or dim
and don't use the pc while burning it makes a difference

if this pop up appears just click no

Checking Burn Quality

Open up kprobe2, i o error xgd3.
PIF max less than 4 and PIF avg less than .20 (remember this is just a guideline, it is up to you i o error xgd3 make the call if you think it is a good enough burn.)

also each burn depends on the game . the pi max and pif max where considerable different

for gta v and fifa 14

this is a fifa 14 k probe result
also note that i set the read speed to max instead of 4x cause its faster

Hey everyone! I'm hoping for a bit of quick advice here. I made a backup of an xbox 1 game that boots fine in my xbox but I can't get it to work in my 360!

It recognized the xbox 1 game, it even shows the Original Xbox logo when I try and boot it up, i o error xgd3. The game exits and gives me error code (X:5829 B:1884). I'm updated with the backwards compatability list and the game is on there.

I've done some searching on here and on google and I cant i o error xgd3 to find a decent answer. I don't need help.

So ive spent the last week watching 100s of tutorials on backups and DVD Burners etc etc.

I do have a Xbox360 capable of reading my backups that I recently got but im confused on DVD Drives.

I currently have a HP DVD-RAM GH82N ATA Burner.

Would that work for making my backups or would I need something like this:
