hp error 13.0000

Paper Feed Rollers: It is possible that the Paper Feed Rollers are worn out. You can try cleaning them until new rollers are installed. There are normally three. It kicks over without issue. The web interface shows one 13.0000 error at the current page count, but all of my troubleshooting hasn't caused it. Cause: Paper jams are commonly caused by timing issues and the greater number of jamming issues are caused by non supported media. On some.

How to Replace HP M607 M608 M609 M631 M632 M633 Fuser \u0026 Maintenance Kit L0H24-67901 L0H24A RM2-1256

Read these next.

The title says it all.

I have quite a few CM2320 (same printer as the CP2025, but with the most useless scanner ever known bolted onto them) in the office and one user's having major trouble with her CM2320.

It keeps saying Jam in Tray 2.  Given the age, I figured a roller replacement was in order, but in the meantime I swapped out her CM2320 with another one we had in a less-used flylink dc database error  Within a few days she was running into the error again.

I replaced the Tray 1 & Tray 2 pickup rollers & pads and it's still happening.

I thought maybe one of the toner cartridges was dodgy, so I swapped those too.

I plug and play error thought maybe the paper tray wasn't quite right, so I swapped that as well.   Still having problems.

Any thoughts/wisdom oh gurus of Spiceworks?

  • Are these actual jams or phantom jams (no apparent paper). Do you have an error code? I can check my HP resources if you do have an error code.

  • Thank you for a quick reply!

I've seen both happen so far.   No error codes on these, unfortunately.

Usually when it jams it's mid-cycle.  Never does it on the first page.   Usually when it jams there's a page partially coming out of the printer and one partially going into the pickup rollers with a decent amount of space between them.

  • Thinking about it. no error codes were showing on the display, but the printer's web interface is logging them:

    Code / Page #

    10.1001  69515

    13.0000  69512

    13.0000  69508

    13.0000  69495

    13.0000  69488

    13.0000  hp error 13.0000 69450

    54.2100  69448

    13.0000  69448

    13.0000  69447

  • The 54 error is a failure of the scanner, beam not detected. If the scanner is failing this can cause a jam as the printer stops, hp error 13.0000. The 13 error is just a generic paper jam error. When you replaced the tray 2 pickup roller and separation roller any chance you did not get the separation roller back in properly? These machines can be a pain that way.

  • What gets me is the user had issues with two separate machines, both before I replaced the rollers, and after I replaced the rollers.  One printer has ~86,000 pages on it, the other has ~26,000.

I did notice the separation roller in the back was tricky and I did get it in wrong the first time, which led to multiple pages being picked & pushed through the paper path at once, or blank pages between printed pages.  I since removed & reinstalled (correctly, I hope!) the separation roller and it now only moves freely in one direction and won't roll in the reverse direction, which seems to match our working CM2320's.

  • Are you sure the paper sizes are set properly on both the driver and the printer. Some recent HP drivers have a habit of defaulting to A4 which can throw things off because of the different page length, but often one or two pages will go through hp error 13.0000 the system realizes hp error 13.0000 the timing is off.

  • GOOD point.  It is a Win10 machine workstation, so this makes a lot of sense.  I've even seen my Mac default to A4 for some strange reason. Fortunately the copier I use as my default printer just kicks the print job right back at me when this happens.  I'll check it when I'm hp error 13.0000 tomorrow.

  • Have you looked at the fuser? An old fuser can cause odd jams

  • Check the fuser

    LCD control panel

From the Home screen on the printer control panel, use the down arrow button () to scroll to Administration, and then open the following menus:

    Reports

    Configuration/Status Pages

Use the down arrow button () to scroll to the Supplies Status Page, and then press the OK button.

Use the up arrow button () to select Print, and then press the OK button to print the page.

  • I did ponder the fuser, but the "jam" is happening well after paper enters the fuser.  I'm used to seeing fuser issues with the paper just entering the fuser.

  • What we are used to seeing happen isn't sufficient to rule out a part failure. It takes moments to check on the status of your fuser and until you do, you can't rule it out.

  • Finally had a chance to pull them open.  Both of the problematic machines' fusers look similar to the same model printers elsewhere in the office which aren't exhibiting problems.

  • Wow! You can determine whether or not a fuser has exceeded its duty cycle by looking at it instead of checking the actual printer report on it? Clearly your observational skills trump any silly report the printer might have. So go ahead and work under the assumption the fuser is fine based on how it looks and good luck clearing the jam.

  • Considering the user's printer only has 18,863 pages on it, hp error 13.0000, the fuser's nowhere near spent. I checked voltage/amps in comparison to a trouble-free CM2325 which has 80k pages on it, gave everything a good look-over, nothing unusual.  Also odd is that a replacement CM2523 which hasn't ever had a jamming issue also became problematic when left with the user for a few days.

I've moved her printer into my office and so far it's behaving with everything I've sent over to it, although I don't abuse mine anywhere near as much as they do.

HP Color LaserJet M451 Series – Phantom Paper Jam – Error Code 13

HP M451 Color Laserjet PrinterThere is a firmware update for the HP Color Laserjet M451 Series Printer, (M451d, M451dn, M451dw) that corrects the Phantom Paper Jam, whereby the display shows “Error 13”, yet hp error 13.0000 is no actual paper jam in the printer itself.  The Printer Web Page Event Log will show “Error 13.0000 Paper Jam”.

Download the Firmware directly from HPhere or from HP.com – Support and Drivers – Enter “M451” as the Search Term – for Firmware and Drivers along with other support files.

The currently installed Firmware version can be found on the “System Configuration” page of the Web Management Console or by printing a “System Configuration Page” via the REPORTS menu from the Printer Control Panel.  To view the Printer Web Configuration Pages (Console) via a Web Browser, locate the IP address of the printer and enter in to a Web Browser.  The IP Address of the printer is usually shown on the LED Display of the Printer itself alternating with other activity and status information.

This is a very common problem with both the Color Pro 400 series and the CP 2025 series printers.  When sending a print job it will begin to print. Then you will see that the printer has gone into “cleaning mode” followed by “Misprint”. Then it will ask the user to press “OK”. Then if you select ok, it will try to re-print the job but “Cleaning mode” will begin and the whole process will start all over again. I can see the frustration in your eyes and I’m not even there. If you pull out the paper tray carefully you will see that the paper has fed in just a bit and is laying inside. Not to worry there are a few solutions besides replacing the machine that seem to help.

The easiest way to get yourself printing again is to slow down the machine. I will explain the reason why this works later in my article. Go into the paper handling menu and set Tray 2 paper type to “Heavy – 111-130g”.
The reason why I don’t like this method is because it slows down your printer. The M451dn prints Letter size color pages at 21 pages per minute (ppm). If you are doing a large print job you will notice a drop in speed.

For your information, Hewlett Packard will replace the machine on exchange if it is still on Warranty.  Hp error 13.0000 it is off hp error 13.0000 warranty you will have to pay to exchange it or you can try the fix here.

How to Replace Paper Feed Rollers in HP M451 Series Printer

What is Actually Happening?
Everything that happens in a laser printer is timed to the millisecond. The image on the ITB “Intermediate Transfer Belt”, the position of the paper as it is being sent on its way through the machine and the timing of the laser are just a few of the many necessary events in the operation of a laser printer.
As the paper is being sent to the registration assembly the image is being created on the ITB. In this situation the paper never makes it to the Registration sensor (SR4). (Note: Misprint means paper jam)
Now, because that image is unusable the machine tdr 2000 directx error to clean the ITB which is the “Cleaning Mode”.
Then it will say “Misprint” and waits for the user to press “OK”. If you press “OK” the page that failed is reprinted. Then it will start the dreaded Loop of destiny.

The next solution is to replace the paper feed pick-up roller. It could be as simple as the roller is worn out and slipping, hp error 13.0000. Rollers in a printer are similar to the tires on your car. If they are slick to can’t get traction, in the same way the roller can’t get the traction it needs to push the paper as much as it needs to go.

Sensor SR4 Registration

The problem is that the Paper Feed Pick-Up Roller does not push the paper far enough into the registration assembly. So how do we increase the amount/distance that this roller travels?  In this modification that I tried and have had 100% success with, we will increase the diameter of the roller. It is very similar to an adjustment that many copiers have. It is called the “Paper Feed Buckle” adjustment.  Here is an example of two different amounts of buckle as the paper is being fed into the registration rollers.

Paper Buckle Amount
Paper Buckle Amount Increased

This would be great if that was all there was to it.  But I have had many that even though I replaced the roller it still had the problem.  That is why Hp error 13.0000 had to come up with a fix or replace dozens of printers.  The following is how I increased the buckle amount by increasing the diameter of the roller.  I would love to hear from any people that had to perform my modification and how orange jim root terror turned out.

Pull off the paper feed roller’s rubber only so that the half moon is showing. If you take it all the way off you may get the tread on backwards plus it’s easier not to.  Install the tape so that it covers the entire half-moon end to end.

Reinstall the rubber of the feed roller making sure it is straight and on correctly.
Compare rollers
Now compare the height of the rubber tread.  We have increased the diameter of the feed roller so that when it feeds the paper will travel further into the registration assembly and prevent the issues with cleaning/Misprint.

Note: If the roller is already worn out this wont work.

Reinstall the roller into the printer.

HP M451 Jam in tray 1

I've got an M451 in for repair with issues very similar to those described in this post (no replies).

It came in for print quality issues, and initially printed one page before running out of paper. When I added more paper to tray 2 strange things started happening:

When I try to print it goes through the motions, I can hear things turning, but then it stops and says "Jam in tray 1." The feed roller doesn't turn. The tray does not lift. I can clear the error by removing tray 2 and opening/closing the back door. Opening the back door with the cassette still installed does nothing.

If I start over, remove all the paper from tray 2 and put paper in tray 1, and then try to print it says hp error 13.0000 or close tray 2." Tray 2 is installed, and adding paper lazarus inifiles writestring error tray 2 does nothing. Opening and closing the back door causes it to immediately show the "Jam in tray 1" error again, even if I already canceled the job.

Other posts have suggested checking the accessory paper feeder inlet guides, but they're intact and in place.

This printer has lost its damn mind and it's trying to take me down with it.

ok is there a jam code listed in the error log?

these have been known to have flaky feed assms.

have you pulled the tray completely out and checked the connectors in back?

residual jams indicate a stuck/sticky sensor flags. if it detects this situtation. tray will not lift hp error 13.0000 feed

another think to check is the EM Feed clutch/solenoid . can't remember if it is one of the plate or plunger type. but they all get sticky

how many pages on the machine? and PM parts?

    new feed rollers?

Re: HP M451 Jam in tray 1

Thanks for your reply. Cgi forbidden error have a lot of experience with hp error 13.0000 HP printers, and know all the usual troubleshooting tasks. This one is defying expectations. I'm really just hoping that someone will chime in with some experience with this particular issue.

All of the sensors are plugged in and actuators are intact, as far as I can tell. I'm not intimately familiar with this particular model. Note that the error condition is dsound .dll error persistent. It goes away when the printer is rebooted, and only returns when I try to print. If a sensor were out of whack I would expect the printer to throw an error at boot. I know some sensors (on some models) aren't polled until print time, but not which.

The tray 2 pickup mechanism is mechanically functional, which I verified using the rotate function in the service menu (the one you use when changing the roller). It kicks over without issue.

The web interface shows one 13.0000 error at the current page count, but all of my troubleshooting hasn't caused it to log any more, which is also a bit odd. The device has a four-digit total page count, and I don't think this model is old enough to be suffering from the typical sticky solenoid issue. That causes over-rotation of the pickup roller anyway, which is not what I'm experiencing, but I'll try to get eyes on it regardless, hp error 13.0000.

Common problem, so far, no solutions that I have found. From firmware, formatter pwb, solenoid replacement, cold reset, ect, ect, ect. We have run into a whole bunch of these machine's with the problem., HP 2000 series, HP 400 series, hp error 13.0000, zilch, gotten to the point that we just replace the whole machine(if customer wants) they are cheap enough now, hp error 13.0000, 25-50 apiece from wholesalers. Not worth the time, especially when there isn't a solution to the problem. Have heard many intel ucode loading error remedies, but, nothing. Good luck, if you do find one, please post.

Re: HP M451 Jam in tray 1

I had an HP M452, which is a newer model, act the exact same way. Luckily I had another 452 that ran good, but with a bad fuser. I tried a NEW Tray 2 pickup assembly; no change. Swapped boards, no change. I ended up taking the fuser out of the original problem machine and put it in the parts machine and sent it back to the customer. They were within a thousand pages of each other, and both under 30k total count. Very odd problem. The crappy part about these cheap machines is that there is no diagnostic menu to troubleshoot.

    Good luck!
