Your Guide to Hotpoint Error Codes

When you&#;ve got a Hotpoint washing machine, you now that you&#;re going to be able to get the most from your device from start to finish. They&#;re designed to be the most efficient systems around for washing clothes, but like all technology, they do tend to go wrong sometimes. To make sure that you know what the problem is, Hotpoint released a series of error codes which you can use to identify issues, and we&#;re going to explore all of them here and now.

F01

The first code is F This message will tell you that there&#;s a fault in the Hotpoint electronic circuit board. To remedy this, you should unplug the machine and leave it for two minutes. If the situation persists, then you should contact us!

F02

Motor circuit faults are the name of the game with F02, and you&#;ll come up against these at some point. It&#;s not a problem you can fix yourself, so you&#;ll need to come and ask us for help.

F03

F03 is a temperature sensing fault, and it means that the washing machine isn&#;t heating up in the way it should. Again, this is a professionally-fixed problem only.

F05

F05 is an error code which shows up when you&#;re dealing with a waste pipe blockage. Now you can do something in this instance, and this involves checking for obstructions yourself and removing them.

F06

F06 is a fault with the door lock, and this will prevent you from using your machine at all in some situations. Check for blockages inside the door and remove anything that might interrupt the locking process.

F07

The error code F07 is the machine telling you that there&#;s a fault with the electronic circuit board, or that there&#;s a problem with the heating circuit. This error message is unique in that it shares part of its meaning with F01, so always make sure you suggest both faults to a professional.

F08

F08 is an error with the heater. If this happens, you may find that the machine can&#;t get those hot temperatures going during a wash. You&#;ll need to bring it to us to fix though because it&#;s a tricky issue.

F09

If you see error code F09, it means that you&#;re dealing with a software fault. This issue isn&#;t one to mess around with, and you should bring it to us as soon as possible.

F11

The next Hotpoint error code which we&#;re going to look at is F It&#;s what you&#;ll see when there&#;s a fault with the pump circuit. This problem isn&#;t one you can fix, which makes a professional the best option.

F12

F12 is a fault with the electronic control system, and it manifests as the washing machine not turning on properly. You will need to come and see us because this isn&#;t something you can fix for yourself.

F13

One of the final few fault codes you&#;ll see is F13, which occurs when there&#;s an error with the dryer temperature, specifically an issue with the sensor. It only applies to those washer-dryer combinations, but it can be a pain regardless.

F15

An F15 fault code tells us that the heater controls have a fault, and this can be prominent in both washing machines and also washer-dryers. You need to make sure you are watching out for this fault and not ignoring it.

F16

The penultimate fault code we&#;re going to look at here is F This code develops when there is a problem with the drum lock position sensor, and it prevents the drum from stopping in the right position. You&#;ll need to make sure that you come to us when this happens because it can be too much to deal with alone.

F18

F18 is the final fault code on the list. It refers to an error with the internal data of your machine. It means that sensors and displays may not work, which means you can get all vital information. When this happens, we suggest consulting with us to get the issue resolved quickly.

Error F06 in Ariston washing machine

F06 error on AristonModern washing machines are equipped with intelligent controls called Fuzzy logic. The manufacturer Hotpoint Ariston is a series of Dialogic machines. They are equipped with various sensors and sensors, which allow you to select a program depending on the weight of the laundry, water hardness, pollution and other parameters. In such machines, a self-diagnosis system is also provided, informing about a malfunction. Consider this system using the code F06 as an example, find out the reasons for its appearance.

Decryption and reasons

As we have already noted, error F06 is typical only for washing machines of the Dialogic series. It informs the user that the buttons on the keyboard are faulty, which leads to a malfunction of the programs. Indeed, this washing machine has an unusual design, or rather control. The keyboard with buttons is hidden behind the handle, to provide access to the buttons, you need to click on the center of this handle. There are 9 buttons on the keyboard, including spin and quick wash.

CM Ariston Dialogic Series

The cause of the error F 06 may be:

  • broken buttons;
  • faulty electrics between the control board and the controller;
  • faulty electronic module

Electrical Check

Error F with the number 06 indicates a malfunction in the electronic module, the control panel board, or somewhere in the circuit between these two elements. So the first thing we need to do is remove the control panel of the washing machine of this brand.

  1. First, unscrew the two screws that are located directly under the top cover on the back of the washing machine. They hold the top cover. After that, we shift the lid a little back, and then lift it up and remove it to the side.
  2. Now we go around the washing machine in front and remove the detergent drawer.
  3. On top of the ends of the front panel, at the corners we find two self-tapping screws, which also need to be unscrewed.
  4. Next, unscrew the screws that are located around the niche of the powder receiver.

While the powder receptacle is in a niche, the screws around it cannot be removed, but if you remove it, everything can be done quickly and conveniently.

  1. Now we just have to pull the panel up a little and on itself, it should be removed. True, here you need to be careful not to damage the delicate plastic mounts.

After we remove the front panel, we will see a huge bundle of wires that fits from the board to the pull-out segment with buttons and a couple of wires go to the "Power" button. This washing machine has a special design and, by the way, is inconvenient, especially when it becomes necessary to ring the contacts of all buttons and check their supply wiring. But we will not strike into philosophy, but we will get down to business.

washing machine wiring

First, examine each posting and each contact of the control panel button. A visual inspection will give us a first impression. If somewhere there are traces of burning or fusion on the wiring and contacts, we will definitely notice them. After a visual inspection, we take a multimeter and begin to check each contact of all available buttons one by one, note those that do not work. Next, we successively check all the wiring that goes to the contacts of the buttons, this is a meticulous job, but it will not take as much time as it might seem.

Professionals advise checking each contact and each posting several times to eliminate an error, because if you miss a faulty segment, you will have to start all over again.

We mark the broken wiring, if, of course, there will be such. After the check is completed, we need to remove the faulty button contacts from the special grooves, order similar ones and replace them with the old ones. After that, connect wiring to them according to the diagram. If it was not possible to get the circuit or you have problems reading it, just take a picture of the wiring arrangement at the very beginning, and then, relying on the photo, connect everything as it was.

If during the checking of contacts and wiring, you did not find a single defective element, you must pay attention to the control module. It is very possible that electrical communications from the control module to the control panel and buttons have nothing to do with it. Most likely, the electronic module is to blame, this must be checked! About other malfunctions of this machine can be found in the article Repair of the washing machine Ariston.

What to do with the electronic module?

An electronic module is a part that is quite difficult to repair. Firstly, you need to have the necessary tool, secondly, you have the skill of work and knowledge in this area, thirdly, you will need the details - “donors”, that is, those elements that need to be re-soldered. First you need to find these elements on the board, each ringing alternately. In 99% of cases, this work is trusted by the master, which we advise you to do.

The module in the Hotpoint Ariston washing machine is located in the lower left side of the machine closer to the rear wall.

control module in Ariston

There were cases when the board was not repaired, but on the contrary was broken, due to ignorance of many nuances. Replacing this part also has its own characteristics. And the point here is not how to remove the electronic module itself, but whether it is programmed, because if there is no software, then you need to install it. In the master’s language, this means “flashing” the board.

So, F06 error is not so simple as it might seem when reading its decryption. To fix it yourself, you need to know many nuances. If you have nothing to risk, and you are learning to repair, go for it, the road will take the road!

How to Fix Whirlpool Washer Error Code E01/F06

A Whirlpool washer error code E01/F06 indicates that the washer’s motor control unit (MCU) is having trouble communicating with the washer’s central control unit (CCU). In most cases, the issue is caused by a damaged MCU circuit, usually caused by an overload. If you heard an electrical popping sound when the washer stopped working, the MCU (or CCU) likely needs to be replaced. However, in some cases, the error code may just be a glitch, which is fixable by resetting the washer (disconnecting the power).

Follow the steps below to diagnose and resolve the E01/F06 error code.

This guide applies to most Whirlpool washer models, including the following:

1. Reset the Washer

If your Whirlpool washer has an E01/F06 error code, the first thing to try is to reset the washer by disconnecting it from the power for 10 minutes. After you reconnect the electricity, if you do not see the error code, you can run a quick test using the washer’s diagnostic mode to make sure the error has been resolved.

Follow these steps to reset the washer:

  1. Press pause/cancel twice to cancel the error code.
  2. Unplug the washer from the power source.
  3. Wait ten minutes.
  4. Reconnect the power to the washer.
  5. Put the washer into diagnostic mode by pressing any three keys except power one after the other; then press the three keys again. Make sure you press the same three keys in the same order. When the washer is in diagnostic mode, it should show on the display.
  6. Select an express test by pressing and releasing the second button that you pressed above.
  7. After the LED begins blinking, press start to begin the test. If the E01/F06 error code returns, the issue has not been resolved, and you will need to continue to troubleshoot the problem.

2. Access the Washer

The next three steps will require accessing the CCU and MCU. With most Whirlpool washers, you will need to remove the top of the washer to access the CCU and the washer’s rear panel to access the MCU.

The tools required can vary depending on the model, but with most Whirlpool washers, you will require a 1/4 inch socket or nut driver and a small slotted (flathead) screwdriver.

Both the top and rear panel should be secured with screws, which you should remove with the relevant screwdriver.

Make sure to disconnect the power to the washer before removing the access panels. For safety, the water to the washer should be turned off as well. To protect against cuts and electric shocks, it is recommended that you wear appliance repair work gloves.

3. Check the Connections

With most Whirlpool washer models, the CCU is located at the top of the washer, in the front right corner. The MCU is usually located at the bottom of the washer, in the back right corner (when facing the front of the washer). Both components will be housed inside an assembly that is secured to the side of the washer.

Once you have located the CCU and MCU, check that all the wires are securely connected to the CCU and MCU. Follow the instructions below to access the MCU and CCU assemblies. If you find that a wire is not connected, plugging it in should resolve the E01/F06 error code.

4. Check the MCU for Damage

In most cases, damage to the MCU is responsible for the E01/F06 error code. Once you have located the MCU, inspect the board for signs of burning or damaged wires. If there are burn marks or the MCU is damaged, replacing the MCU with a new one should resolve the E01/F06 error.

Follow these steps to remove and replace the MCU:

  1. Make sure the power is disconnected.
  2. Remove the rear access panel.
  3. Locate the MCU assembly box attached to the side of the washer (back right corner).
  4. Open the small door to expose the wire connectors.
  5. Take a photo to remember how to reconnect the wires.
  6. Disconnect the three wire connectors.
  7. Use a slotted screwdriver to lift the tabs at the bottom of the MCU assembly that secure it to the washer.
  8. Remove the MCU assembly from the washer.
  9. Reinstall a new MCU by following these steps in reverse order.

The MCU can be tested with a multimeter. However, testing the MCU with a multimeter is best left to a trained technician, as the wiring may differ depending on the model, and the washer’s power may need to be turned on, which increases the risk of electrocution.

5. Check the CCU for Damage

If the MCU is in good condition and not defective, the error may be caused by the CCU. Like the MCU, the CCU is difficult to test with a multimeter, and so it is best to get a trained technician to check it. However, like the MCU, you can inspect the CCU for signs of burning or damaged wires. If you notice burn marks or damage, replacing the CCU with a new one should resolve the E01/F06 error code. Replacing the CUU can be expensive, so again, it is best to get it checked by a trained technician before replacing it.

Follow these steps to check and replace the CCU:

  1. Make sure the power to the washer is disconnected.
  2. Remove the top panel from the washer by removing the screws that secure it.
  3. Locate the CCU attached to the side of the washer in the front right corner.
  4. Use a slotted screwdriver to release the locking tab that secures the CCU to the side of the washer.
  5. Use the slotted screwdriver to help release the wire covers so that you can see the wire connectors.
  6. Take pictures to remember how the wires connect.
  7. Disconnect the CCU wires.
  8. Remove the CCU assembly from the washer.
  9. Replace the CCU with a new one by following the steps above in reverse.

CCU and MCU issues are some of the more difficult appliance repairs to perform, especially without washer repair training. If you have followed the steps above and the E01/F06 error code remains, it is time to call a trained technician.

Dirty washing was immersed in the unit tank and the necessary program was launched. But alas, the device did not respond to the established mode. In addition, she did not start pumping water, and the screen displayed a fault F6 or F

Moreover, the error could be displayed after the execution of the established washing mode, and without resetting the lock and not opening the hatch, and after a while, the abbreviation F06 was highlighted. Sometimes such a malfunction is displayed at any time during the execution of the selected program or is displayed during normal operation at any time.

In Ariston washing machines, in which the manufacturer does not provide a display, you can determine this malfunction by indicating certain processes, depending on the type of machine:

  • The first Ariston Margherita models are equipped only with indicator lights - a network and door lock, you will find the indicator light responsible for supplying electricity in the form of Morse code blinking (blinks 6 times, then the silence interval and the cycle repeats). The program selector knob constantly rotates clockwise, making certain audible clicks.
  • Hotpoint-Ariston such as ARSL, ARXL, AVM, etc. displays a problem by blinking the program completion indicators and drain. Or, indicator lights will be constantly lit, which are responsible for additional functions either horizontally or vertically, depending on the type of your washing machine.
  • Hotpoint-ariston aqualtis such as AQSL, AQ9L, AQS0L, etc. signal a problem with F06 due to the blinking of indicator lights responsible for the temperature regime of 30 ° C and 40 ° C (when counting from the bottom up, these are the second and third indicators).

Hotpoint Washing Machine HV7FPUK F06 error code showing

  1. The machine won’t fill with water

Make sure the door is properly closed, check that inlet hoses are clear and not kinked and that the water supply is connected and functioning. Water valve may be faulty See our video on water valves

  1. The drum doesn’t turn

There are a number of things that can cause this, including worn carbon brushesdrive belt problems, or a faulty motor or control unit PCB. On new machines with 3 phase motors or inverter motors, they get a lot of control board faults

  1. The machine stops mid-cycle

This generally means that the timer, thermostat, or heater had failed. The washing machine may stop due to these faults or the water rinse valve may be faulty or the machine has not emptied the water out of the drum in an allocated period of time.

  1. The washing machine is noisy

A rattle, while the drum is moving, could be due to something stuck in the drum, coins and bra wires are common culprits. You may be able to remove the drum paddles to get to the offending item or remove the sump hose or heater. It’s also worth checking the drain filter to make sure that’s clear. A noisy washing machine may also indicate failed or worn bearings or drum spider. Try turning the drum by hand when the machine is empty. If you hear a rumbling noise or can feel ‘play’ in the drum, it’s likely that the bearings need replacing. You can also get drum spring or shock absorber problems.

  1. Water not draining from the washing machine

This usually means there’s a blockage in the drainage filter, or the pump itself has failed. The first thing you’ll want to do is empty the water so you can rescue your laundry. Pull out the drain hose, pop it into a bucket and let gravity do the work. Also, check the sump hose and waste pipe if fitted to a sink unit the problem can also be the connection.

  1. The washing machine won’t spin

Problems with the spin cycle are relatively common washing machine faults, if your machine knows there is water still in the drum it will not allow the drum to spin it must empty in an allocated period of time. The good news is that they’re generally relatively inexpensive and simple to fix. Balance sensors will override the cycle if the clothes are unevenly distributed and could cause the machine to vibrate. This can happen if you’ve overloaded the washer, or if you’re trying to spin just a few items. Try reloading light loads or removing a few items from heavy ones. If this fails, motor carbon brushes may need to be replaced. On new machines with 3 phase motors or inverter motors, they get a lot of control board faults

  1. The door won’t open

This will usually be due to water not draining, or a faulty door lock. Drain manually as above. If that doesn’t fix the problem you may be able to remove the top of the machine and release the lock from the inside see videos.

  1. Clothes smell bad

If you always use low-temperature washes and biological detergents you could have a build-up of bacteria or even mold in the machine. Try running a hot empty wash once a week. You should also clean out the soap dispenser regularly, and leave the machine door open to air after you’ve removed the washing.

  1. The washing machine is damaging clothes

Tears in clothes indicate foreign bodies in the machine or damage to the drum.

The washing machine is constantly filling with water

the machine is siphoning or water valve is leaking

The machine reports a fault code or error code

Error codes can be on the display or given in certain lights flashing sequences. Washing machine fault codes are not universal but may only point you or an engineer in the right direction they are not % accurate they are only that for guidance. Your owner’s manual may help you identify the problem and even suggest a fix. In other cases, you’ll need an engineer to trace the fault. Don’t be tempted to ignore a fault code, even if the machine seems to be functioning normally. Some codes are ‘early warning signs’ and fixing the machine at an early stage could save you time and money in the long run. Contact us with the full model number and detailed description

Professionals advise checking each contact and each posting several times to eliminate an error, because if you miss a faulty segment, you will have to start all over again.

We mark the broken wiring, if, of course, there will be such. After the check is completed, we need to remove the faulty button contacts from the special system error 1722 has occurred cluster, order similar ones and replace them with the old ones. After that, connect wiring to them according to the diagram. If it was not possible to get the circuit or you have problems reading it, just take a picture of the wiring arrangement at the very beginning, and then, relying on the photo, hotpoint error code f-06, connect everything as it was.

If during the checking of contacts and wiring, you did not find a single defective element, you must pay attention to the control module. It is very possible that electrical communications from the control module to the control panel and buttons have nothing to do with it, hotpoint error code f-06. Most likely, the hotpoint error code f-06 module is to blame, this must be checked! About other malfunctions of this machine can be found in the article Repair of the washing machine Ariston.

What to do with the electronic module?

An electronic module is a part that is quite difficult to repair. Firstly, you need to have the necessary tool, hotpoint error code f-06, secondly, you have the skill of work and knowledge in this area, thirdly, you will need the details - “donors”, that is, those elements that need to be re-soldered. First you need to find these elements on the board, each ringing alternately. In 99% of cases, this work is trusted by the master, which we advise you to do.

The module in the Hotpoint Ariston washing machine is located in the lower left side of the machine closer to the rear wall.

There were cases when the board was not repaired, but on the contrary was broken, due to ignorance of many nuances. Replacing this part also has its own characteristics. And the point here is not how to remove the electronic module itself, but whether it is programmed, hotpoint error code f-06, because if there is no software, then you need to install it.

  7. After the LED begins blinking, press start to begin the test, hotpoint error code f-06.

The tools required hotpoint error code f-06 vary depending on the model, but with most Whirlpool washers, you will require a 1/4 inch socket or nut driver and a small slotted (flathead) screwdriver.

Both the top and rear panel should be secured with screws, which you should remove with the relevant screwdriver.

Make sure to disconnect the power to the washer before removing the access panels, hotpoint error code f-06.

  3. Locate the MCU assembly box attached to the side of the washer hotpoint error code f-06 right corner).

On new machines with hotpoint error code f-06 phase motors or inverter motors, they get a lot of control board faults

Also, hotpoint error code f-06, check the sump hose and waste pipe if fitted to a sink unit the problem can also be the connection.

Try reloading light loads or hotpoint error code f-06 a few items from heavy ones.

Tears hotpoint error code f-06 clothes indicate foreign bodies in the machine or damage to the drum.

The washing machine is constantly filling with water

the machine is siphoning or water valve is leaking

The machine reports a fault code or hotpoint error code f-06 code

Error codes can be on the display or given in certain lights flashing sequences. Washing machine fault codes are not universal but may only point you or an engineer in the right direction they are not % accurate they are only that for error 1013 iphone 4 Your owner’s manual may help you identify the problem and even suggest a fix.
