How to Resolve S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD Backup and Replace Error

Part 1. What Is Smart Error?

Self-monitoring, hdd error press f1 continue, analysis, and reporting technology is abbreviated as S.M.A.R.T or SMART. It is smbclient error nt_status_bad_network_name mechanism that has been integrated into the computer hard drives, including HDDs and SSDs. It can be used to monitor the hard drive health, detect and report imminent hard drive failure, and minimize the risk of unexpected system shutdown and data loss. If you receive the error message of "Pri Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T Status BAD, Backup swish error cannot find image_1 Replace Press F1 to Resume" when switching on your computer, it indicates that something wrong with the hard drive happens.

The SMART status bad is a hard drive error, which means that the hard drive is about to crash. The reliability of the hard disk drives, as well as solid-state drives, depends upon this mechanism. If the SMART error occurs, the main reason is that the magnets inside the hard drive are now of no use. The users should ensure that the necessary precautionary measures are taken to save the data that has been written onto the hard drive. SMART technology is a mechanism that should be taken seriously, and therefore, it should never be turned off. At times the users disable it from inside the BIOS, but it is not at all recommended.

How to Fix SMART Hard Disk Error

Usually, after the SMART status bad warning, you will not get erd error 7b failed hard drive immediately and still have time to back up the computer and transfer data to a replaced one. However, the next question might be how to fix the SMART error. 3 ways for different situations can be considered.

  1. Disable S.M.A.R.T error from the BIOS. It is OK if you want to continue the use of the hard drive. But it is not recommended since the hard drive is doomed to failure, and disabling the error will increase the likelihood of data loss.
  2. Back up and replace. If the computer is successfully booted after pressing F1, you can immediately resort to a hard drive backup utility to help you back up important data and move them into another secure hard disk.
  3. Reboot and recover. If your computer fails to boot or data gets damaged after pressing F1 to resume, you might need bootable media and a data recovery tool to facilitate the data retrieval.

Part 2. How to Disable SMART Error Screen?

The SMART is also known as a SMART SELF TEST. It can be disabled from within the BIOS very easily. All the system manufacturers of the world strongly disagree that the error should be disabled. Cyber39 mysql error, if the user is not serious about the data that has been stored, it can be disabled. This part of the tutorial is the one that can be used to disable the error. The requirements that are to be fulfilled are also mentioned. SMART error is a problem that can be faced while using any kind of drive, i.e., internal as well as external. It is, therefore, not associated with any specific kind of drive. Another kind of drive that encounters the error is Solid State Drives or SSD.

Requirements

  • PC
  • Internet connection in some cases
  • A hard drive that encounters the error

Step 1. The user needs to reboot the system. Once it has been done, the volume down button or the F2 is to be pressed:

Step 2. The path that is then to be followed is advanced > SMART settings > SMART self-test> Disabled. Echo php 500 error setting is, however, enabled by default. The process here ends in full:

Part 3. How to Backup After SMART Status BAD?

When encountering a SMART hard drive error, you have better back up all data present in the hard disk and contact its manufacturer to replace it with a new one ASAP. A hard drive data backup utility is your reliable assistant to help you save important data effortlessly and efficiently. AOMEI Hdd error press f1 continue Professional could be a hdd error press f1 continue choice for you. Part 4. Rescue Data When SMART Error Happens, and Computer Fails to Boot?

If SMART status bad is received, it is advised that all the users back up the data immediately. SMART error, in simple words, means that the hard disk can crash at any time. If the computer fails to boot for the error, probably the OS file was corrupted due to bad sectors. However, there still is a way to rescue your data from the hard disk.

With Recoverit Data Recovery software, you can enter WINPE mode to recover data from the corrupted hard drive with ease. The process that a user needs to follow in this regard has been mentioned as under:

Step 4 Once booting from the USB drive successfully, the Recoverit program will launch automatically. It provides two modes for you to recover data - Hard Disk Copy mode and Data Recovery mode. Please choose one of them to recover your data from the crashed computer. For more detailed steps, check the Recoverit guide.

Note: Once the SMART error is received, then it means that the hard drive can crash anytime. The crashed hard drive, therefore, was never detected by any software. On the other hand, hdd error press f1 continue, the user needs to retrieve each piece of info from the infected drive. The Recoverit Data Recovery hdd error press f1 continue therefore mentioned for all the users who wish to retrieve the data in full. Once the recover button is pressed, then the user can specify the location that can be used to save the recovered files.

Pressing F1, the computer cannot boot. Your files might get damaged or corrupted. Get them back with Recoverit Data Recovery.

Part 5. The attributes of SMART

Each hard drive manufacturer ensures that a threshold value is set for a certain operation's hard drive. Under normal circumstances, the threshold value should never exceed. If it is done, then the error is faced. There are a total of 256 values that are also associated with the HEX ID as well. Some of the errors and the threshold values are critical. The total number of errors that are considered to be critical is 11.

The SMART error is one of them and, therefore, should be taken very seriously. There is no solution to the issue. The user needs to change the hard drive and make the backup as soon as the error is seen for the first time. For complete information and more study on the topic, the user can visit the URL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T.#ATA_S.M.A.R.T._attributes.

The SMART error is critical, and there is no process at all that can correct it. If the error is encountered, it is never advised to disable it at all. SMART error screen always appears if the hard drive is not changed. The necessary steps are the backup as well as the data retrieval from the old sectors. Therefore, the user should choose AOMEI Backupper Professional or the Recoverit Data Recovery program to get awesome results. This program leads the users to the best results. Once the SMART error executes itself completely, no program could detect the hard drive. The necessary steps should, therefore, be taken first hand.

Fixed: Dell Alerts Hard Drive Not Found

Dell alert hard drive not found

“I have a Dell laptop installed Windows 10. It was working fine this morning. Then, I went out leaving my computer on, and when I came back, I got a Dell alert hard drive not found with a message like the following list:

'Internal hard disk drive not found

To hdd error press f1 continue this issue, try to reseat the drive.

No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility

Press F5 to update-rc.d error unable to read onboard diagnostics.'

I tried pressing F1 and it gave me:

'No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility

Press Hdd error press f1 continue to run onboard diagnostics.'

Internal Hard Disk Drive Not Found

How do I solve this problem?”

Reasons for Hard drive not found in Dell computer

Actually, hard drive not found issue occurs not only in Dell, but HP, Kingston, Samsung, etc. When a computer starts up with a message like hard drive not detected, no boot device found, no boot partition found, missing operating system, hard disk drive failure, etc. It means the computer is unable to find the default hard drive it uses when it loads. There are several reasons why your Dell reports no hard drive detected or missing operating system error on start up:

♦Bad BIOS setting;

♦A loose cable;

♦A corrupted hard drive registry;

♦A bad Windows installation;

♦A boot sector virus;

♦A broken hard drive.

Solutions to Dell alerting hard drive not found

When there is no hard drive detected in Dell, you should work around to resolve the problem. Here are some ways for you to resolve it.

1. Press F1

When the Dell alert you hard drive not found, press F1 to continue, it is a BIOS error message. And you should press F1 to continue. Because pressing F1 is a contingency procedure that can work around an error, and the computer may load into Windows correctly after pressing F1.

2. Correct bad BIOS settings

BIOS handles the basic setup and boot process for the computer and prepares it to load the operating system. Hard drives are usually connected to onboard a SATA or IDE port. If the port that hard drive is connected is disabled, hard drive will not be detected by the computer and you will get a message “hard drive not found&rdquo. Thus, when you meet the problem, you need to check BIOS setup.

Another question you need pay attention to is the hard drive that contains Windows should appear first on the list. If it didn’t appear first on the list, you can enter the computer’s BIOS setup and change the boot device priority.

Change Boot Order

3, hdd error press f1 continue. Check hard drive cable

Dell hard drive not found may also happen if the computer isn’t physically connected to the hard drive. So you can check the hard drive cable to ensure whether it has a loose cable connection or the SATA cable and power cable may have worn out. If it is, you can reconnect the cables from both the hard drive and the motherboard, or replace the cable with a new one.

4. Perform a hard drive reseat

A hard or forced reseat erases all information in the computer memory and might restore functionality. Reseatting your computer forces the system to clear and reestablish the software connections between the BIOS and the hardware. To perform a hard reseat, you should do as following steps:

1. Turn off the computer. Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.

2. Disconnect all external devices from your computer, unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

3. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.

4. Press and hold down the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.

5. Insert the battery, and plug the AC adapter back into the computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, printers, etc.

6. Turn on the computer. If a start menu opens, select Start Windows Normally with arrow keys and press Enter.

5, hdd error press f1 continue. Test Hard Drive

If the ways above cannot settle your problem, then you need to test whether it is a physical damaged hard drive.

Remove the hard drive from the computer and connect it to another computer to see whether it still works. if it doesn’t, you should replace hard drive with a new one. If it does, you can test the hard drive to see if it has bad sectors. For this job, here we highly recommend you to use a third party software AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard, which can help you check your hard drive easily. It can work under Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7/XP/Vista.

Step 1. Connect your hard drive from Dell to a Windows PC.

Step 2. Free download AOMEI Partition Assistant, install, and launch it. You can see the hard drives on the main interface. To test hard drive, here you can select the hard drive, hdd error press f1 continue, right-click it, select Surface Test.

Surface

Step 3. Then, hdd error press f1 continue, tick the option of Quick Check, click Start, and it will test the hard drive immediately.

Disk Surface Test

If there is any error on the hard drive, you can fix errors with AOMEI Partition Assistant in a few simple steps.

 6. Windows Repair Install

A bad Windows installation may cause errors and prevent Windows from loading. Thus, the Dell may alert hard drive not found when booting. If Windows sees the hard drive when running a refresh or repair install, the drive is probably not broken. And you can running a repair or refresh installation to fix it. If it doesn’t work, the drive may be infected with a boot sector virus, which you need to fix by hdd error press f1 continue drive hdd error press f1 continue all about how to fix "Dell alert hard drive not found" issue. • Treo 755 p and Windows - HotSync jumps calendar and Agenda - "Conduit DateCond.dll: no link found for the Creator ID 'date'." Conduit did not run. »

I've owned a 755 p for almost a year now. For much of this time, my hotsyncs were jumping the Calendar/Contacts and calendar apps. These two work very well on the Palm Desktop and on the Treo itself. I checked the unit and the palm Desktop for corrupt files, hdd error press f1 continue. There are not. When I was hdd error press f1 continue Palm Desktop 4 (before 6 is available for XP), the lines were always listed as disabled. I could help and do a hotsync, but no data has been synchronized and would return to being disabled. If I tried to set it as enabled by default, the Hotsync application would break! So, I've lived with this absurd situation for 6 months now. Finally, I tried upgrading to Palm Desktop 6.2 and had no problem, but the problem persists. HotSync on the desktop PC simply ignores these lines entirely, even if it does not display error messages after a sync. The lines are listed as enabled.

I made a full backup and then uninstalled Palm Desktop 6.2 completely. Restarted and re-installed Palm Desktop 6.2 and tried to sync again. The problem persists.

My next step (and where I am now) would allow to debug and documented in the Hotsync application logging. Once I did, I discovered the specific problem, which apparently is entirely hidden from the end user. Here are the specific journal entries:

Led DateCond.dll: No association is found for the Creator ID "date." Conduit does not run.

Led DateCond.dll: No association is found for the Creator ID "SNLT". Conduit does not run.

Led AddrCond.dll: No association is found for the Creator ID 'addr '. Conduit does not run.

Led AddrCond.dll: No association is hdd error press f1 continue for the Creator ID "PAdd". Conduit does not run.

I was not able to find something on the Internet about these errors, hdd error press f1 continue. Nothing on the Palm site, nothing in these forums. I checked the database files are indeed on the handheld and have good creator ID. I don't understand how a complete re-installation of software still leaves it with a kind of missing association. But clearly there is something that lack prevents Hotsync to understand exactly what it is supposed to do here.

I can't just wipe my machine and start over. I have a lot of contacts and calendar on the device entries that are not on my PC and vice versa. Find and fix all those differences manually would be months of work with my limited free time. So if anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this problem, please let me know. And no, I'm not going to waste time calling support Palm. I gave up on the phone with Palm years ago support.

  • Welcome to Pelco Support

This methodology will pertain to the DX8100 Series; however the steps provided will be  similar for use applied to the DX8000 Series.

The DX8100 Series motherboards use AMI Bios (American Megatrends Inc.).

    To Enter SETUP:

The AMI BIOS is immediately activated when you first power on the computer. The BIOS reads the system information contained in the CMOS and begins the process of checking out the system and configuring it. When it finishes, the BIOS will seek an operating system on one of the disks and then launch and turn control over to the operating system.

While the BIOS is in control, the Setup program can be activated in one of two ways:

    1. By pressing <Del> immediately after switching the system on, or
    2. By pressing the <Del> key when the following message appears briefly at the bottom of the screen during the POST (Power On Self Test).

If the message disappears before you respond and you still wish to
enter Setup, restart the system to try again by turning it OFF then ON or
pressing the "RESET" button on the system case. You may also restart
by simultaneously pressing, and keys. If you do
hdd error press f1 continue press the keys at the correct time and the system does not boot, an
error message will be displayed and hdd error press f1 continue will be asked to.

PRESS F1 TO CONTINUE, DEL TO ENTER SETUP

Use the following chart for menu navigation reference:

    Main Menu
Once you enter the AMI BIOS CMOS Setup Utility, the Main Menu will
appear on the screen, hdd error press f1 continue. The Main Menu allows you to select from several
setup functions and two exit choices. Use the arrow keys to select
the BOOT menu among the items and press to enter the sub-menu.

    BOOT SETTINGS:

The most common issue is the configuration "WAIT FOR 'F1' IF ERROR'  to be set to [ENABLED], Disable this field.

    Verify QUICK BOOT is ENABLED.

Other Possible Causes: PRESS F1 TO CONTINUE

    • Usually accompanied by a hardware failure that the BIOS can be set to 'halt on'.
    • Keyboard errors
    • Any hardware failure detected by the bios will halt the boot process and give the above message.
    • The battery on the motherboard.
    • Something in the BIOS is cand needs to be fixed.

    Hello

1 have you made changes to hardware or BIOS settings recently?

    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

Hi Rene, I found the solution. Can't say, it's a solution, but is a parameter that is required to be done, especially for execution the Midlets. Just put here what I did... Select the project, right-click on it, then select the "Application" tab, and then change the 'Midlet' Project Type, then click OK. She's. Clean and build the project, now it will not show the warning. in any case, thanks much, Rene, for your time and valuable suggestions. Best regards.

I checked the unit and the palm Desktop for corrupt files. There are not. When I was with Palm Desktop 4 (before 6 is available for XP), the lines were always listed as disabled.

Led AddrCond.dll: No association is found for the Creator ID "PAdd". Conduit does not run.

I was not able to find something on the Internet about these errors.

It's part of the problem. You might want to hard reset the device, and then rename the folder to BACKUP on the PC. (CProgram Files/Palm or Palmone / * Hotsync username * / Backup.) Change to the old files then synchronize with your existing username.

Hi Prince, when installing Windows 10, it is very important to only have one HDD or SSD attached to your system

Also the new drive you are installing Windows onto, should be attached to SATA 1 or 0, whichever is the lowest on your particular system . . .

Otherwise the page file, boot configuration can end up on the second drive and you will end up with boot problems later.

When the installation completes, you can then connect the second drive . . .

How to Resolve S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD Backup and Replace Error

Part 1. What Is Smart Error?

Self-monitoring, analysis, and reporting technology is abbreviated as S.M.A.R.T or SMART. It is a mechanism that has been integrated into the computer hard drives, including HDDs and SSDs. It can be used to monitor the hard drive health, detect and report imminent hard drive failure, and minimize the risk of unexpected system shutdown and data loss. If you receive the error message of "Pri Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T Status BAD, Backup and Replace Press F1 to Resume" when switching on your computer, it indicates that something wrong with the hard drive happens.

    SMART status bad

How to Fix SMART Hard Disk Error

Usually, after the SMART status bad warning, you will not get a failed hard drive immediately and still have time to back up the computer and transfer data to a replaced one.

However, if the user is not serious about the data that has been stored, it can be disabled.

Once it has been done, the volume down button or the F2 is to be pressed:

how to disable smart error screen

Step 2. The path that is then to be followed is advanced > SMART settings > SMART self-test> Disabled. The setting is, however, enabled by default. The process here ends in full:

    disable smart error screen

AOMEI Backupper Professional could be a nice choice for you. It allows you to back up files, pictures, and videos from hard drives, computer systems, partitions, and external storage devices. You can also restore and clone everything you want.

    Step 2. Select Disk Backup

Then it would help if you chose a backup mode to continue. The backup application allows you to make backups of hard disks, systems, partitions, and files as per your own needs. And here, we will select "Disk Backup" as a demonstration.

    Disk backup

Step 3. Add a disk to backup

Click "Select the disks you need to backup," and a pop-up window can be seen. Select the hard drive that will fail and click "Add" to go on. You are also allowed to add more disks or delete the selected disk.

    Add disk to backup

Step 4. Choose the backup location

Next, click "Step 2" to choose the target drive for backed-up data. You can back them up to a different computer hard drive, but it would be better if you copy them to an external hard drive or NAS drive.

    Add disk to backup

    Step 5. Get backup started

Finally, click "Start Backup" to begin the process. By the way, you can make some backup settings, comment on the task, or edit the task name as you like before the click.

The process that a user needs to follow in this regard has been mentioned as under:

    computer data recovery

Your Safe & Reliable Computer Data Recovery Software

    • Recover lost or deleted files, photos, audio, music, emails from any storage device effectively, safely, and completely.
    • Supports data recovery from recycle bin, hard drive, memory card, flash drive, digital camera, and camcorders.
    • Supports to recover data for sudden deletion, formatting, hard drive corruption, virus attack, system crash under different situations.

and follow the next simple steps to retrieve lost, deleted, or damaged data from your computer.

Step 1 Download and install the program on a normal computer.

Step 2 Select the "Recover from Crash Computer" option and click the Start button. Then follow the instructions to create bootable media (prepare a USB flash drive in advance).

    create a bootable media

Step 3 Plug in the bootable media to the computer unable to boot and set the computer to boot from the USB drive.

    scan with all-around recovery

Step 4 Once booting from the USB drive successfully, the Recoverit program will launch automatically. It provides two modes for you to recover data - Hard Disk Copy mode and Data Recovery mode. Please choose one of them to recover your data from the crashed computer. For more detailed steps, check the Recoverit guide.

Note: Once the SMART error is received, then it means that the hard drive can crash anytime. The crashed hard drive, therefore, was never detected by any software. On the other hand, the user needs to retrieve each piece of info from the infected drive. The Recoverit Data Recovery is therefore mentioned for all the users who wish to retrieve the data in full.

    Hi,

I'm having a problem with the HDD (or other component) on a computer, and I'm wondering if anyone would be able to assist me. So, my friend's computer would no longer start up, and he asked me if I could fix it, as I fix computers often, and build my own, etc, so I said sure. When I first got the PC and tried finding the problem, I decided it was the HDD, as the HDD had the "click of death", and was not working or showing in the BIOS. I also put my own HDD in his computer and took it all the way to the "choose partition to install Windows" portion of the Windows 7 set-up, and all seemed fine, but as I had data on the drive I stopped there.

So he ordered a new HDD, as I told him that's the part he needed, and it just got here the other day, and upon installing it, the computer would not recognize it, and was giving me the "Primary Hard Disk Failure, Press F1 to Continue", so I took the drive out of his PC, put it on my main PC as a slave drive, and then ran chkdsk, which turned up no errors. After that I decided to try a different SATA cable, in a different SATA port, and it finally started up fine, and went through the Windows 7 install, but not without problems.

During the first try installing Windows 7, when it got to the point where it needed to restart the computer, it did, but when it came back on, nothing displayed on the monitor, but the computer was running, so I had to hold the power button for a Hard Shut Down, and when it came back on, it said "Windows encountered an error and shut down improperly", or whatever the exact words are of that message. Anyway, I clicked "start windows normally", and when it got back to the install process it said, "Installation cannot continue as Windows shut down improperly during install process" or something to that effect, so I shut down, and started the install all over again.

This time, it installed fine, and started up, so now come some more errors. First, I couldn't get the audio to work for the life of me...I suppose this is minor, but it just didn't seem to recognize the onboard audio no matter what I did. The other problem, is every time I shut the computer down, it wouldn't start up the next first try, you'd have to turn it on, then hard shut down, then turn it on again, to get it to start up. It was doing the same thing where the computer was on, but there was no display on the monitor.

Anyway, I went to bed, after that, and when I got up this morning, to look at it again, I tried to start it up and now it says, "Disk Read Error Has Occured, press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart", which all that does is restart it, and repeat the same message, over and over again. So after that, I switched it to a new computer case, with a different motherboard/ram/PSU/CPU, but I kept the video card, DVD drive, and HDD the same. It started up the first time, and tried to load Windows, but had an error, stating it could be caused by "changing of hardware", which I figured was likely, so I restarted with the intention of re-installing Windows 7, but not the computer would not come on, it would power on, but again, would not show a screen.

So now, I put everything back in my friends case, and back with all of his hardware, but I left the video card out, and tried the on-board video. Upon trying this, it got to the Windows load screen, but then blue-screened, and continued blue-screening every attempt after that.

Finally, I took the hard drive out, and put it in my main computer, disconnecting my HDD's, and doing a fresh install of Windows 7 to the hard drive, and everything went smoothly, in fact, I'm on it right now, and even restarting, the computer turns on fine, and starts up fine, every time I've tried. So I definitely don't think it's a problem with the HDD, so it must be a problem with some other component in my friends computer.

I'm just wondering though, why would "Primary Hard Disk Failure", and "Read Disk Error Occured" show up, if it doesn't have anything to do with the HDD.

And could it be the video card? I have no other way to test that at the moment, as, like I said, my friends on-board video doesn't work either, and I have no spare GPU's that will work in his system, nor do I have any spare motherboards that actually have on-board video, so I really have no way to test if it's the video card, other than the fact that his on-board video didn't work either, but that could be another problem entirely.

So what's the next step to finding out what the problem could be.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact I am installing a 6.0GB/s (Sata III) HDD in his computer, that only has 3.0GB/s (Sata II) slots, would it. It was my understanding that Sata III HDD's and Cable's are backwards comptaible with Sata II ports.

Oh, and something else I can add, that may or may not be an issue, is when you turn his computer on, the CPU fan starts at 100%, and slowly (over a minute or so) goes down to I'd say 10%-20%, until you can barely hear it. I don't know if that's how his fan is supposed to work, his CPU is a Core2Quad (Q8600 IIRC), but I've also noticed, when rebooting or turning the computer on, if the CPU fan doesn't do that (start at 100% speed and go down to 10% speed), then those are the times when the monitor will not turn on. So it could be a power issue, though, as I stated, I tried another PSU on it, with no success, although it's quite possible that PSU isn't strong enough (only 450W) or is damaged as well.

    Thanks for ANY help!!!

When the installation completes, you can then connect the second drive . . .

Dell alert hard drive not found

“I have a Dell laptop installed Windows 10. It was working fine this morning. Then, I went out leaving my computer on, and when I came back, I got a Dell alert hard drive not found with a message like the following list:

'Internal hard disk drive not found

To resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive.

No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility

Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics.'

I tried pressing F1 and it gave me:

'No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility

Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics.'

    ♦Bad BIOS setting;

    ♦A loose cable;

    ♦A corrupted hard drive registry;

    ♦A bad Windows installation;

    ♦A boot sector virus;

If the port that hard drive is connected is disabled, hard drive will not be detected by the computer and you will get a message “hard drive not found”.

To test hard drive, here you can select the hard drive, right-click it, select Surface Test.

    Surface

Step 3. Then, tick the option of Quick Check, click Start, and it will test the hard drive immediately.

If it doesn’t work, the drive may be infected with a boot sector virus, which you need to fix by hard drive formatting.

That’s all about how to fix "Dell alert hard drive not found" issue. Hope this article can solve your problem.

    Welcome to Pelco Support

You may also restart
by simultaneously pressing , , and keys. If you do
not press the keys at the correct time and the system does not boot, an
error message will be displayed and you will be asked to...

PRESS F1 TO CONTINUE, DEL TO ENTER SETUP

Use the following chart for menu navigation reference:

    Main Menu
Once you enter the AMI BIOS CMOS Setup Utility, the Main Menu will
appear on the screen.

When a Computer Can't Find the Hard Drive but Says to Press F1 to Continue

When a computer starts up with a message like "Drive not found, press F1 to continue," it means the computer is unable to find the default hard drive it uses when it loads. This could be an indication of something easy to fix like a bad BIOS setting or a loose cable; however, it can also indicate a much more complicated problem like a corrupted hard drive registry, a boot sector virus or a broken hard drive.

    Pressing F1

    1. Pressing F1 to continue is a contingency procedure that can work around an error. The computer may still load into Windows correctly after you press the F1 key. If the computer is able to work correctly with the button-push interruption, the culprit is likely a bad setting in BIOS. This can be fixed by adjusting the BIOS setup or resetting the BIOS. "Drive not found, press F1 to continue" is a BIOS error message. The BIOS handles the basic setup and boot process for your computer and prepares it to load the operating system.

    BIOS Setup Fixes

    1. Correcting bad BIOS settings can get the error message to stop tripping as well as fix errors that can both trip the message and prevent Windows from loading. The BIOS errors can be addressed by entering the computer's BIOS setup and adjusting the boot device priority. The hard drive that contains Windows should appear first on the list. Any SATA ports that do not have hard drives connected to them should appear below the Windows boot drive on the list. Flashing or resetting the BIOS may also fix the problem. BIOS settings can be reset by removing the CMOS battery for about five minutes with the power disconnected.

    Check the Connection

    1. The "Drive not found, press F1 to continue" error may be tripping because the computer isn't physically connected to the hard drive. The motherboard and hard drive may have a loose cable connection or the SATA cable and power cable may have worn out. Connection problems can be corrected by removing and reconnecting the cables from both the hard drive and the motherboard. If the cables are bad, swap out the SATA cable and use a different power cable from the power supply.

    Windows Repair Install

    1. A bad Windows installation or boot-sector virus could cause the error and prevent Windows from loading. If Windows sees the hard drive when running a refresh or repair install, the drive is probably not broken. The error might be fixable by running a repair or refresh installation. Neither installation will erase personal data on the hard drive. If the reinstallation process doesn't work, the drive may be infected with a boot-sector virus and require a low-level format to fix.

    Broken Drive

    1. Remove the hard drive from the computer and use it as a secondary drive on another computer to see if it still works. If it doesn't, it may be broken. If it does, the motherboard's northbridge or southbridge could be broken.

    SMART status bad

How to Fix SMART Hard Disk Error

Usually, after the SMART status bad warning, you will not get a failed hard drive immediately and still have time to back up the computer and transfer data to a replaced one.

However, if the user is not serious about the data that has been stored, it can be disabled.

Once it has been done, the volume down button or the F2 is to be pressed:

how to disable smart error screen

Step 2. The path that is then to be followed is advanced > SMART settings > SMART self-test> Disabled. The setting is, however, enabled by default. The process here ends in full:

    disable smart error screen

AOMEI Backupper Professional could be a nice choice for you.

The process that a user needs to follow in this regard has been mentioned as under:

    computer data recovery
