Windows update error 8024200d code
During the last two weeks my laptop has been not to install the updates that error code 8024200d when installing sp2 sent by Microsoft. The error code is 8024200d. Whenever I run the troubleshooter, it corrects two errors that are different from those that I have. The problems identified by the help desk are:
1-potential Windows update database error detected 0x800F081F
2 - Windows Update components need to be repaired.
Whenever I run the troubleshooter the result told that problems are detected and fixed, but the next time that I reboot, its still there.
Please help me solve the error 8024200d because I think that's what creates this problem. Any help will be much appreciated guys.
Thank you very much
These two errors are the response standard stock when someone is running the troubleshooter. It may have fixed something or it may not, there is one way to really know, isn't there?

Cannot install service Pack 1 windows update error 0x800F081f
I tried to install service pack 1 Windows update without success. I run download update of the tool of the system and also the windows online update the troubleshooter for Microsoft. He told me that registration for the service is missing or damaged and gave me the above error. I went to Microsoft update online that I had previously received an 8024200d error code 8024200d when installing sp2 windows update error when trying to install the service pack 1 update.
Could someone help with what I should try next please?

Windows update error 80072EFD
I have a laptop of old P750 for 2 months, after they need to do a restore to a disk upward, I now get the above error.
I then decided to do a cover of toshiba with a clean install and still get the same result of windows update is not not able to connect to the server.
I tried everything I can find this error, including the verification of the proxy settings for Error code 8024200d when installing sp2, reset the proxy via CMD prompt settings.
I noticed something interesting while control validation using microsoft MGA diagnostic tool, where windows has been listed as a hat, but note some reports as:
Validation code: error code 8024200d when installing sp2 N/a, hr = 0 x 80070002
signed: n/a, hr = 0 x 80070002
My understanding is the way to 0 x 80070002 he couldn't connect identical to WU or that files are missing.
I have rebuilt that recommended such c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution records, turned off all firewall, removed antivirus / software malware but still no luck.
It seems funny how the same thing happens even after a clean drive toshiba recovery.
If you check Google and error code 80072EFD you will find many pages where you can find explanations why should be done about it.
It's typical Microsoft problem and the solution must be sought by Microsoft.

Windows Update error code
I have a new Toshiba laptop, running Windows 7 (Home Premium SP1 installed by the OEM). My internet connection works fine for all sites Web except it fails when I try Windows Update. Error message code is 8024402F. I already checked 'automatically detect DNS settings' I also tried disabling my firewall (McAfee) temporarily and tried without solution. I tried dozens of times in recent days.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
According to the Microsoft Knowledge Base, it has something to do with your Internet connection. Have you already checked the Microsoft Knowledge Base?

As far as I know it's a legal version. I borrowed it from my brother because my PC didn't come with a disc. He says his install off the same disc is working fine. I have also tried installing them individually and even then I still receive the same error codes, error code 8024200d when installing sp2. I did try putting the disc in to do a system repair and it told me that the version of windows I installed does not match the version of windows on the disc, even though it is the disc I installed from. I have also ran virus scans through Avast Pro and Advanced System Care and neither found any so I doubt it could be a virus.
I had a similar issue once before and I ended up renaming the SoftwareDistribution folder.
Rename the folder at this location “%windir%/Softwaredistribution – normally, that should be Computer Control Panel

If you get Windows Update error 0x80092004 on Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2 do this
Microsoft released updates for all supported versions of Windows -- client and server -- on the August 2019 Patch Day. You can check out our overview of the updates if you have not done so already.
Reports suggest that some administrators and home users face issues with the released updates on machines running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
Attempts to install the updates KB4512506 (monthly rollup update) or KB4512486Â (security-only update) fail with the error 0x80092004. The error associated with the error code, CRYPT_E_NOT_FOUND, suggests that Windows Update rejects the updates because cryptographic values that the update packages contain are not found.
Microsoft changed the signing of update packages for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 devices on the August 2019 Patch Day for the first time, error code 8024200d when installing sp2. The company signs packages only with SHA-2 since August 2019; it signed them with SHA-1 and SHA-2 previously but decided to drop SHA-1 because of known weaknesses.
We published an article in 2018 about the change stating that Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 systems needed certain patches to continue receiving updates.
It appears that affected Windows systems are looking for SHA-1 in the update package and ignore SHA-2. SHA-1 is not included anymore and error code 8024200d when installing sp2 appears to be the reason why error 0x80092004 is thrown on those systems.
Tip: it is always good to research Windows updates before installing updates.
Microsoft revealed that certain Symantec and Norton software installed on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 systems does not play nice with the change and Microsoft made the decision to block updates on machines running Symantec and Norton software until the issue is resolved. The security solutions may block or delete Windows Updates.
While it is possible that the issue is related, e.g. that other antivirus solutions are causing issues with Windows Updates as well, error code 8024200d when installing sp2, it is more likely that a required update is missing.
Two updates need to be installed on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 systems so that SHA-2 signed updates are installed correctly:
- KB4474419 -- SHA-2 code signing support update for Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7, error code 8024200d when installing sp2, and Windows Server 2008: August 13, 2019
- KB4490628 -- Servicing stack update for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1: March 12, 2019
If one of these is not installed, SHA-2 signed updates won't be accepted and the error is thrown instead.
Microsoft confirms that KB4474419 is a prerequisite on the support website. The company lists KB4490628 on the page as well stating that it strongly recommends that it is updated. SSU updates are installed automatically if Windows Updates is used but need to be installed manually if updates are installed manually. It is unclear why Microsoft does not list the SSU as a prerequisite more clearly.
You can verify that these updates are installed by checking the "Installed Updates" listing in the Control Panel or by running third-party software such as Nirsoft's WinUpdatesList.
If at least one of the updates is not installed, install it on the device and run a new check for updates after installation; the August 2019 update should install just fine this time.
