Symptoms

User may encounter error code "091-940 Remove Drum Cartridge" while using Dell 3000cn, 3010cn or 3100cn printers.

Cause

This error indicates an issue with the Imaging Drum Cartridge or the communication with the drum.

Resolution

  1. Turn the printer off using the power switch on the left side of the printer.
     
  2. Remove the imaging drum cartridge, and then close the top and front covers.
     
  3. Turn the printer on.
     
  4. Reseat all four toner cartridges. While reseating the toner cartridges, clean each cartridge with a clean, dry cloth. For instructions to reseat the toner cartridges, refer to the User's Guide for your printer.
     
  5. Reinstall the imaging drum cartridge.
     
  6. Turn the printer off, wait 10 seconds, drum cartridge error then turn the printer back on. Check if the error message still occurs.
     
  7. If the error persists, drum cartridge error the Imaging Drum Cartridge. If the imaging drum cartridge has already been replaced for this problem, Please contact Dell Technical Support for further advice.

How to Fix Brother Printer Error Drum

Is your Brother printer receiving the ‘Drum error’? Then, you have to clean the corona wire on the drum drum cartridge error of your printer immediately to resolve the issue. Brother Printer users often face this common error but before calling the company for an instant tech-support, trying some steps can help to resolve the issue. Have you been facing the issue for quite some time and keep asking yourself  how to fix Brother Printer Error Drum? Step 1 Fix Brother Printer Error Drum

  • Slowly open the lid of the printer and remove the drum unit
  • Also, remove the toner cartridge assembly
  • Keep a piece of paper on which the parts can be kept to avoid spilling of the toner

1. To find it, simply open the front flap of your laser printer and find the toner cartridge(s) which the drum unit will be attached to or beneath.
2. Pull any green toner locking levers down to release the cartridge and then slowly pull the cartridge towards yourself and out of the machine. Place the toners drum cartridge error a flat protected surface.
3. On the toner cartridge(s) there will be a green lever that can be pressed to lift the toner off the drum unit.
4. The drum unit can then be replaced and toner locked back into place on top of the new drum.

Don’t panic. There’s no need to ring up your supplier for a replacement. There’s one really simple task that you can do to reset your printer and get it up and running again.

If you’ve got a Brother MFC-7360N, MFC-7460N, MFC-7460DN or MFC-7860DW

On your printer:

  • Press ‘Clear’

  • Press the number 1

  • Ensure that you now see the “Accepted” message on your display

If you’ve got a Brother DCP-7055, DCP-7055W, DCP-7060D, DCP-7065DN or DCP-7070DW

On your printer:

  • Press ‘Clear’

  • Press the up arrow

  • Ensure that you now see the “Accepted” message on your display

This error is not necessarily related to a hardware fault. It is an early warning that the Life Counter of the Imaging Drum is due to expire and you will need to purchase a new Imaging Drum from Dell.com/Support/Home.

To confirm that there is no further hardware issue, drum cartridge error, please carry out the steps below:

  1. Turn the printer off using the power switch on the left side.
  2. Re-seat the Imaging Drum Cartridge.
    • Open the Front Cover and Top Cover drum cartridge error the Printer.
    • Grab the Blue Handle and Pull the Imaging Drum Up and Towards yourself to remove from the Drum cartridge error the process to re-seat the Drum.
  3. Turn the Printer on and drum cartridge error if the error recurs.
  4. If the error persists, print the Printer Settings Report and check the page count:
    • Press Menu.
    • Press the down arrow until Configure appears, and then press Select.
    • Press the down arrow until Reports appears, and then press Select.
    • Printer Settings appears, press Select to print the report.
    • Look under the General section for Total Impressions, to get the page count.
  5. Compare the page count to the expected imaging drum cartridge life:

    The expected drum cartridge varies depending on the ratio of black pages printer to colour pages printed, drum cartridge error. The ratio can drum cartridge error determined by the values of Total Black Impressions and Total Colour Impressions on the Printer Settings Report.

    100% Black: 42,000 pages

    100% Colour: 10,500 pages

    75% Black, 25% Colour: 24,000 pages
     
  6. If the page count has met or exceeded the expected imaging drum cartridge life, purchase a new Imaging Drum Cartridge.
  7. If the page count is below the expected imaging drum cartridge life, remove the imaging drum cartridge from the printer and check for any sign of damage or deterioration of the Photoconductive layer (shiny blue roller) on the drum.
  8. If there is no obvious damage to the Imaging Drum roller, run diagnostics on hp2015 - error code 52. laser-scanner error toner full sensor:
    • Turn the printer off using the power switch on the left side of the printer.
    • Press and hold the up and down buttons while turning the printer on. Release drum cartridge error buttons when Customer Mode appears on drum cartridge error printer LCD.
    • Press the down arrow until IOT DIAG appears, drum cartridge error, and drum cartridge error press Select.
    • Digital Input appears, press Select.
    • Press the up arrow until DI-6e appears, drum cartridge error, and then press Select. DI-6e L 0 appears.
    • Open the front and top covers, and remove the imaging drum cartridge.
    • Place an opaque object, such as drum cartridge error finger, between the posts of the toner full sensor.
    • The number on the LCD should increase every time the IR light path is blocked.
  9. If the number does not increase from zero, Please contact Dell Technical Support for further advice (Figure 1).

  10. If the diagnostic passes, try another Imaging Drum, from a working Laser Printer of the same model (if available).
  11. If the error recurs or no other Imaging Drum is available, please contact Dell Technical Support for further advice.

2. 091-935 Replace Drum Cartridge

  1. Turn the printer off using the power switch on the left side.
  2. Re-seat the Imaging Drum Cartridge.
    • Open the Front Cover drum cartridge error Top Cover of the Printer.
    • Grab the Blue Handle and Pull the Imaging Drum Up and Towards yourself to remove from the Printer.
    • Reverse the process to re-seat the Drum.
  3. Turn the Printer on and check if the error recurs.
  4. If the error persists, swap with a known-good imaging drum cartridge.
  5. If a known-good drum cartridge does not work, run diagnostics on the toner full sensor:
    • Turn the printer off using the power switch on the left side of the printer.
    • Press and hold the up and down buttons while turning the printer on. Release the buttons when Customer Mode appears on the printer LCD.
    • Press the down arrow until IOT DIAG appears, and then press Select.
    • Digital Input appears, drum cartridge error, press Select.
    • Press the up arrow until DI-6e appears, and then press Select. DI-6e L 0 appears.
    • Open the front and top covers, and remove the imaging drum cartridge.
    • Place an opaque object, such as your finger, between the posts of the toner full sensor.
    • The number on the LCD should increase every time the IR light path is blocked.
  6. If the number does not increase from zero, drum cartridge error, please contact Dell Technical Support for further advice (Figure 2).

If the setting set on the operator panel is wrong, cancel printing first, set the right paper size from [Paper Size] on the operator panel, and then print again.

Make sure that the cassette does not feed multiple sheets of paper at a time after starting printing. If it happens, remove paper, and then load paper correctly.

Paper jam has occurred, drum cartridge error. Please open Output Tray to remove paper. Error: 390

Paper jammed via the paper feed path from the MP tray. Remove jammed paper.

If the edge of the jammed paper is not visible, open the output tray and remove drum cartridge error paper.

Paper jam has occurred. Pull out the [TRAY] cassette and then remove the paper. Error: 391, 392, 393
