Player problems

Hi,

I have problems with Transactions.

Player is installed on my PC. This is Windows 7 Enterprise system with admin rights.

Transactions were recorded for google.com and corporate website.

WPM gives me down status for every poll/request.

I'm able to see what page is requested by Interactive Services Detection:

1.jpg

I have noticed that the requested page in "Properties" looks strange:

res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm#<my address>

I have recorded another Transaction with request to drive on my system:

file:///C:\

This works well and I'm always getting up status in WPM.

2.jpg

Is anyone facing similar problems?

What permissions Player need to make a proper request?

This might be caused by some corporate policy? (blocking content or functions)

Should I open ticket for this?

I can play transactions from Recorder without any problems.

Connectivity Player <-> Server is fine, got response/green dot in WPM.

I can't use Player on SolarWinds Server - limited rights, not possible to create those 7 SEUM accounts.

Changing Internet Options to Low security level gives no effect on this.

Regards,

Matt

Not a browser issue but rather a "DNS" issue.  Have you tried contacting your ISP?  Have you tried a different browser?

The program is trying to display a page that it can't find. It might be the Service Agreement that you have to accept before you can use the program. Could you have used a third-party utility to delete temporary files? If so, the page won't be found and the program won't start. You'll have to wait for a forum moderator to advise what to do in those circumstances, if re-installing doesn't initiate a new service agreement acceptance procedure.

Here are some troubleshooting tests to conduct meanwhile:

  • Does conducting a repair help? To see, type wlarp into the start search box and press Enter. Select Repair... in the window that opens and reboot the computer when it's finished.
  • Can you find an .eml file on your computer and double-click on it? This again should open the message without opening the program itself.
  • Can you start any of the other programs in the Windows Essentials suite - Messenger, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker?
  • What happens when you click a mailto: link? This will normally open a message compose window without opening the whole program interface.

Whatever the problem is, I don't think it's anything at all to do with DNS. That is the standard page for HTTP 404 (page not found) errors.

Tried your suggestions. Ran repair and did not solve problem.

When I go to a  ,eml file, it wants to reconfigure my e-mail. I don't want to lose my contact list so I am reluctant to do that.

Non of the windows essential programs work.

I cannot get to the place for mailto:

Thanks for your suggestions. All my other interfaces with my Isp provider work. They say it is a software problem and I agree with them.

What does that mean? What wants to configure what? If you see an error message, please describe it in detail, including the title of the window it appears in.

I don't want to lose my contact list so I am reluctant to do that.

Why do you think that whatever you're being asked to do would affect your contacts list? That sounds pretty unlikely.

cannot get to the place for mailto:

What happened when you clicked the link in my post? If things were working as they should, then a new message compose window should have opened with the To... address already filled in.

EDIT Sorry, I see now that even though the Insert hyperlink function here allows me to insert a mailto: link, it is in fact removed on submission. You can perform the same test using your browser: just type mailto:[email protected] into the address bar and press Enter.
