Drive image / Ghost error

Drive image / Ghost error

I've used Powerquest Drive image 7 and now Norton Ghost 9 in an attempt to backup my check winbom error drive under XP Pro Sp1. Both have failed to create images because on verification of image an "EA" error is returned stating "PQI Internal structure corrupt or not supported". Has anyone else suffered from this error? The Symantec site vaguely mentioned that it could be other software corrupting the image, but I check winbom error anti-virus and switched off zone alarm during creation and still got the error. I then ran God knows how many versions of disk utility software to test the disks and all check winbom error they were ok. The hard disks are both SCSI(?) or rather have SCSI in the name on Device manager.
One clue.if I boot up to the Recovery environment I get 2 "warning errors", 1 saying WINBOM is not right and 1 saying NIC card not available or something.
Can anybody help - SYmantec are proving to be useless

What is your computer make and model?

I don't think smtp 550-syntax error will be able to do this. Select Start, Run, type cmd and press ENTER. Type "chkdsk c: /f /r" without the quotes and hit ENTER. Make sure you include the spaces indicated. Enter Y when asked whether you wish to run chkdsk on restarting the computer. Exit and restart the computer.

Marking off bad sectors on a hard drive takes time so be patient. Marking off does not repair a bad sector. It places pointers on the drive telling the system not to read or write to those sectors which have been damaged.

If the number of bad sectors continues to increase after you have run the procedure above several times then you should replace the drive. If an important system file is written to a bad sector you can corrupt registry hives and lose the whole contents of the drive.

On the other hand if having run chkdsk you see no more new bad sectors then the drive can work for you for years.

Thank you. I am not comfortable partioning or reformatting my hard drive. I need the data on the drive saved and recovered. Also, I cannot see any indication that I have a driver problem, or a registry problem, check winbom error, so I don't want to go there with my expertise. Any other thoughts?

My computer is HP desktop 9100 running Windows XP Pro. I have tried Last Known Good Configuration and all of the Safe Mode options. They all go check winbom error blue screen. I tried the Acronis Recovery Manager and get a blue screen. The F8 options for Enable Boot logging, Enable VGA Mode, Directory Services Restore Mode, Debugging Mode, and Disable Auto Restart on System Failure, have not been tried. I have not changed the boot sequence, nor have I tried re-installing Windows XP. I am afraid of losing the data on both of my RAID drives, which has happened before, check winbom error. Since I cannot start Windows, I am unable to go to run CHKDSK, check winbom error. I do not know if there is a place at start up that I can enter the CHKDSK. If there is, what is the /f/r stand for? My main drive is labeled H. Any other thoughts?

You can use an external USB drive enclosure to connect the drive after removing it from your HP  9100 computer to a working computer. This enables you to read, write and copy files as though it is an external drive. The link which follows is an example of check winbom error 3.5 enclosure:

Hi Matthew,

I tried replying to your e-mail, but it didn't go through so here is my answer:

Thanks for your interest. I have not been able to boot to Windows, and have not tried to open the hard drive on another computer to check winbom error my data. I have been working on fixing the root problem. I downloaded ERD Commander, burned a recovery disk, changed the boot sequence, booted to the ERD Commander and check winbom error an error message, check winbom error. The Message was Factory.exe error: “Failed to install the Network Adapter – check WINBOM.” When I checked online for Winbom it showed a missing factory registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Factory\Winbom. This is beyond my expertise. When ERD Commander starts, check winbom error, it starts Registering Network Components, which is when I get the Factory.Exe error. When that process finishes, the ERD Commander window says “Select the Windows installation you want to repair”. There is only one option. The only selection is “None – Do not attach to a Windows installation.” Obviously, when I proceed, there is nothing to repair. I can get to a DOS prompt here, but I am not sure if it will do anything to run CHKDSK /f /r at this point or if I can add the missing registry key here. I am not knowledgeable to proceed past this point. Any thoughts?

Factory.exe Failed to install Network Adapter - check Winbom

If there are no entries in the netcard section of the winbom.ini file
the check winbom error command should scan for all network adapters and find and
properly identify the adapter. If entries are in the netcard section
then the factory command doesn't do a full scan and uses the information
in the netcard section to install the adapter. So, it looks like that
isn't the cause of your problem. I thought that maybe entries from your
previous deployment might have been there with information from the old
adapter so I made the suggestion to check it out. The information in
the netcard section would be the ID number of the device and the path to
the .inf file, example:

You could try sticking the proper id there, check winbom error, but as I said earlier if the
section is empty that probably isn't the problem. unless the factory
command can't identify the adapter, then maybe putting the id there
might help.

Hi John, check winbom error, There are no entries in the netcard section of the winbom file.
Can you give me an example of what should be there?

Are the proper Plug and Play ID details for the network adapter card
entered in the [NetCard] section of the winbom.ini file?

Hi, I am receiving the above error meesage when trying to install Windows XP
Service Pack 2 with a batch of HP dc7700 Small Form Factor PC's. The PC's
come fitted with the Intel 82566 NIC. I have loaded the pre-installed
factory OS and tried the drivers that I have so I know that they install
fine. I am running RIS check winbom error W2K3 servers, and have a WinPE environment. All
other machines that I have in my estate have worked fine, without a problem.
I receive a new batch of machines and then I encounter this problem, check winbom error. I have
also changed the switch in our batch file that begins wsh wshshell error process to factory
- winpe, although this does suppress the error message, I still am not
receiving a DHCP address. This tells me the card has not installed.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cannot install network printer on Windows 7.  Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver.  All my vista and XP machines have no check winbom error finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions?  How can I fix it?
Windows Server 2008 network.  Printers have ip addresses, check winbom error. Install the drivers from the Print Manager.  /Terminal Server Workgroup installation.

It's the same situation with XP.  The print driver names must match.  If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer.  This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.

The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.

  • Windows cannot find network card until I reboot

I noticed a few threads that are similar to my problem, but I have a recurring problem that is boring and not too disruptive. Everytime I turn on my computer Dell Inspiron desktop for the first time, every day, check winbom error, windows is unable to locate a network card is installed correctly.  When I check in the network device manager, there is nothing available. Php set_error_handler trace then restart my machine, and then windows (64-bit 7) finds the suitable network and connect to my router etc, and all is well. When I check the Device Manager after the reboot, I see under network: Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Internet.  When I click on this and try to update the driver, reports of windows that it is up-to-date!

So, my problem happens whenever I start my computer, but never when I restart!

Any suggestions? As I don't want to start and restart my machine every day of her life!

    Thank you very much

I suspect a hardware problem with the adapter.

You can try to uninstall the card in the Device Manager and then reboot and let Windows reinstall.

In most cases, the invalid serial number error message occurs if you try to install a utility that has been created for this series of portable.
You should check winbom error if you have downloaded the right tool.

But a question; You use the version of BIOS in Vista?
At that time European Toshiba page driver provides the Win Vista BIOS 2.60.
    Please check this!

Also before that you would try to install Flash cards, you must install the VAP. Value added check winbom error contains tools needed and it should be installed first before installing Flash cards.

Make a double click on it or something?

Well, the PC with the printer should provide Vista drivers if you double-click it to install it because the PC is running Windows XP.
But you can also download and install the printer drivers on your PC and then choose the network as port or IP address.

    Check it!

Hello all. Since I´m new to this board  and I´m just starting, I would like to thank everyone for the amazing helpfull tutorials around here, which already helped me alot in what I´m trying to do. P.S: Loved the "forum rules: respect other forum members",ehehe  :). Enought said. From what i´ve read this really seems a great comunity to learn from.
Relating my doubt, I´ve already built other bootable multiboot DVDs (using xboot and the likes), but they all seemed to lack that one bit of "extended" configurability in what concerns adding our personal touch to builds of our "own". I´ve decided to plung into easyboot, as it seems to be one of the most configurable pieces of software out here. The thing is, having almost build my multiboot dvd as I like it(being a computer tech I managed to combine almost all boot cds I need at work into one DVD), the problem being.ERD Commander.arghhh, lol, check winbom error. Since AhrimanSefid started this topic on the same issue I decided not to create a new one, but instead continue using the info on this one.
I started with the dreeded  winbom error at boot up. Whenever I uncecked joliet and checked optimize, ERD booted fine but Linux bootloader dependent isos did not, check winbom error. The opossite solved the linux boot isos problem but brought back winbom error in ERD. I decided to give Balder´s scripts a go (pretty good one´s it seems).  I used easyboot iso script (load to RAM enabled) and, after creating the iso image, on virtual Box ERD Commander works flawlessly every time I boot it up. The problem is whenever I try to boot ERD on two real PCs (just to be shure), after loading ERD to RAM (which takes a lot of time), on one PC (mine) ERD gives me an error "cannot load setupdd.sys, error code 4", check winbom error, and on the other PC it simply frezzes on a black screen where nothing happens (even after several minutes of wait time. ???

Any idea someone, of what might be hapening? It is just that one ERD Commander 2007 that is keeping me from burning the final "build" onto a DVD.

Hope someone may help with valuable information, which I pretty much apreciate.

    Thanks all. See you

Thanks for the quick reply Balder. And the welcome words also.

I will try and create an ERD Commander iso alone and test that out as (using your script) as you pointed.I´l come back and post the http error 500 php. Relating the motherboard versions, shouldn´t Virtual Box "emulate" hardware check winbom error on the physical hardware of the host machine?.Not really into pc emulation a lot. I thought it would. here goes the set up:

    - My cousins suports core 2 duo cpus and DDR2 2 memory.
    - And I also have an Old 2000s pc with Rambus(RIMMs as oposed to DIMM modules from nowadays) memory on it (only 128MB-which does not allow me to test this stuff out as I wanted).

Relating the 3x memory allocation needed for your scrip. I did not think it needed that much memory :O. That might be why my cousins pc froze on me (4GB of memory). But still, my machine has got 8GB of memory, my iso has got 3.1 GB, which would be enough for even my pc not having enough memory to run it according to the 3x assumption ???.
Anyway, will try the ERD" iso alone" idea. Will post back.

P.S: Ho!,relating the possible hardware issue, I don´t think it might be that as that happened on my machine which as rtc error dell Windows 7 Pro on it (that issue seems related to XP systems only). Also the system runs pretty stable on me all the time.

Thank you for the interest Balder.
    See you.
