Blizzard, a subsidiary of Activation Blizzard, is a Californian company that develops and publishes video games. Blizzard’s desktop application has many bugs that prevent you from playing games published by Blizzard. One of these errors is the error message “The Application Encountered an Unexpected Error”. This error may occur if you try to connect to the application.

The error message is often due to a faulty installation or application cache files. The cache is a temporary file that is stored on your system and contains information that you can access through your sessions. This error message is generic and can be solved by a simple solution, which we will mention below. But before getting to the heart of the matter, let’s take a closer look at the causes of the error message.

To fix the Blizzard error “The Application Encountered an Unexpected Error”:

Update Device Drivers

Unexpected errors can be caused by outdated software, software that conflicts with the game client or corrupted game data.

Update your drivers and operating system to resolve compatibility issues.

Obsolete drivers and operating systems can cause a variety of problems and are one of the first things to be checked when a game has problems. The following instructions will help you check and update your drivers.

  • Even new computers can have obsolete drivers and operating systems because updates are published regularly.
  • Some games and programs may work well on a system with old drivers, but obsolete drivers may still cause technical problems with some games or programs.

Delete the sprers.eu Tools folder

Here’s how to do it:

1. Restart your computer.
2. make sure that the option to display hidden files and folders is enabled.

3. for Windows Vista and 7: click on Start and select Computer.

-Windows XP : Click Start and select My Computer.
-Windows 8: Windows + Q key and select Computer.

For Windows Vista and 7: Double-click drive C, double-click the ProgramData folder, then delete the sprers.eu folder.

Windows XP: Double-click on drive C, then Documents and Settings, then All Users, then Application Data, then delete the sprers.eu folder.
Window 8: Double-click drive C, double-click the ProgramData folder, then delete the sprers.eu folder.

Note: The above steps can make sprers.eu forget about the game installation locations. If your games are not found, you will see Install on the sprers.eu tab instead of Playing. To find your installation, click on Locate this game or launch the game launcher.

Closing of background applications

Third-party programs running in the background may interfere with our games. To temporarily disable these programs and eliminate them as the cause of the problem, follow these steps.

Before following these steps, close any unnecessary programs and restart your computer.

Identify the elements that are problematic at start-up:

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager.
  2. Click on More details.
  3. Select the Start tab.
  4. Right-click on each item and select Disable.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. If this solves the problem, activate the startup application one by one to determine the cause of the problem. You must restart between each application you activate.

Do a Clean Install of the Blizzard App

Since the problem is related to corrupted cache files or an obsolete application installation, the only way to solve the problem is to reinstall the Blizzard application. This includes manually deleting cache files, downloading and installing the application.

Blizzard app

Release date(s)

last update Aug

Platforms

MS Windows, Mac OS

On March 23rd, , the app was renamed "Blizzard app" with version (although on the client download page it is called "Blizzard&#; sprers.eu&#; app"). Although the Mac OS X version was still called just "sprers.eu" with "Blizzard sprers.eu" appearing in it's title bar.

In mid-June , Blizzard announced testing of the sprers.eu desktop app and it was released as a Beta in mid-August [1] It appears to be a unified version of Blizzard Launcher for all of their games. It has a UI that resembles the more minimalist design of the sprers.eu web site as compared with the more textured UI of the game-specific launcher. This replaces the launcher for all Blizzard games, and works similar to the older launchers, with background updates, repair tool, and more.

On January 9, , the Mac OS X version of the "sprers.eu" app requested a restart and then failed to launch, instead going to the Blizzard Error app. Some of the problem may have been incompatibility with older OSes.[citation needed]

In early December , a critical vulnerability (DNS Rebinding flaw) in the Blizzard Update Agent was reported on sprers.eu[2] (apparently part of the app is based on Chromium). Blizzard reportedly put out a patch in late December , but did not give specifics.[3] Blizzard never told users about the problem and the patch was only disclosed after the security reseacher mentioned it on Twitter in late January [3] The patch was apparently mentioned in a January 5, blue post addressing user complaints about the update agent,[4] but without mentioning the vulnerability.

Unexpectedly in mid-May , Blizzard announced they would be hosting Bungie's Destiny 2 in the desktop app (Windows-only).[5] This is not the only Window-only app hosted, since Overwatch does not have a Mac version.

Patch was released in mid February and added a Suggested Friends feature that added several ways to look for potential new sprers.eu friends (friends of friends, Facebook friends, and Diablo friends).[6]

Patch was released in late November, but apparently was wrongly versioned and patch returned the next day. It was re-released on January 10,

Patch added Blizzard Voice Chat with Patch adding improvements and bug fixes.[7]

Patch of the desktop app supposedly added streaming capability via Facebook, but only in Windows OS.

The sprers.eu EULA (End-User License Agreement) was updated around August 1, to go with this new app. It was updated again in February 26, around the release of Patch to take effect February 28,

Around version , the term "Beta" was removed from the app and related web pages, but Blizzard never officially announced the Beta was ending or a release.

Unlike the game clients, patch notes are not regularly given out. So far patch notes have only been posted for v

Security issues

From sprers.eu Desktop App Certificate Update on Dec PM PST by Blizzard EntertainmentDylon Kempkes:

Our recent update to the Blizzard sprers.eu desktop app made sure players could properly use features like logging in to sprers.eu via a social network, or joining a Blizzard group via an invite link. To facilitate these features, we updated the local webserver to use a self-signed certificate to be consistent with current industry security standards.
For those interested in more detail, using these features requires your web browser to communicate with the Blizzard sprers.eu desktop app. Previously, the desktop app used a certificate signed by a public Certificate Authority, meaning that no modifications to your system certificates were necessary; however, this technique is incompatible with Certificate Authority policies and we can no longer use it.
While some browsers such as Chrome and Firefox are equipped to handle browser-to-app communication techniques, the changes were necessary for other browsers. For the time being, the desktop app generates a self-signed certificate that’s unique to your machine and configures your system to trust it.

Video streaming

In patch build , live streaming of video to Facebook capability was theoretically added the desktop app. The documentation for using this feature is rather poor as of Sep 7, Probably you will need to log in to sprers.eu via Facebook, but it isn't clear.

Blizzard Streaming only supports PCs running Windows Vista and up.[10]

Voice chat?

In mid March , Blizzard apparently released a closed Alpha of the sprers.eu desktop app with Voice chat integrated.[11] There was even an FAQ posted on the sprers.eu forums that was acknowledged by blue posters.[12] However, no other official announcements appear to have been made when a version was released in late August , so this version probably doesn't have voice chat.

How to Fix Call of Duty: Warzone’s Memory Error in Windows 10 & 11

Most Call of Duty: Warzone players have been enjoying enthralling battles on that game’s Caldera map in However, a small minority of PC players have had their fun spoiled by Warzone’s Memory Error issue. Memory Error is the error message for a random, recurring crashing issue that kicks players out of matches.

As that error can recur regularly, it’s something players have to fix to play COD: Warzone. Is that same issue spoiling all your blasting fun as well? If so, this is how you can fix the Warzone Memory Error in Windows 11 and

1. Restart Your Router and Modem

Call of Duty: Warzone's Memory Error can arise because of internet connectivity issues. So, it’s recommended that players that play over a Wi-Fi connection restart their routers and modems.

You can restart a router/modem by power cycling it like this:

  1. Unplug the router’s power cable first and then its modem.
  2. Wait about a minute.
  3. Reconnect the router’s modem.
  4. Wait for all the connection lights to come back on.
  5. Then plug the router back in, and wait a few more minutes.

Note that the above instructions are for routers that connect with internet modems. If you have a router with a built-in modem, you’ll only need to unplug the router.

2. Close Any Unnecessary Background Apps

The Memory Error will cite your RAM as a potential problem. Therefore, you can try closing background apps to free up RAM and other system resources to see if that works. Doing so before playing a system-intensive game is a good habit in general, as it frees up your computer's resources for better performance.

Here is how you can close unneeded background programs within Task Manager in Windows

  1. Right-click somewhere along the Windows taskbar and select the Task Manager option.
  2. Then select Processes at the top of Task Manager.
  3. Select listed third-party apps there and click End task.
  4. Scroll down the tab to look for unneeded apps under Background programs. Close superfluous background apps listed there by selecting them and pressing End task.
  5. In addition, check if your system tray includes any unneeded third-party background apps you can disable. You can usually close such apps by right-clicking their tray icons and selecting disable, exit, or quit options for them.

3. Disable HDR

Some players have reported disabling HDR (High Dynamic Range) on PCs and TVs can resolve Memory Error That potential resolution is more widely confirmed by Xbox players, but you can also disable HDR in Windows Here are the steps for disabling HDR on Windows 11 PCs:

  1. Open your Start menu to select the Settings shortcut from there.
  2. Select Display on your System tab.
  3. Click the HDR navigation option.
  4. Then turn off the Use HDR option.

4. Lower the Graphical Resolution to P

Playing Warzone at a higher resolution than P (Full HD) is reputedly another possible cause for Memory Error If you’re playing Call of Duty: Warzone with a 4K or QHD display, cutting the resolution down to P might make a difference.

You can lower the system display resolution setting as follows:

  1. Hold the Windows key and press I to bring up the System tab in Settings.
  2. Select the Display navigation option.
  3. Then select x from the Display resolution drop-down menu.
  4. Click Keep changes to confirm.

To ensure you’re playing Warzone at P, check its in-game resolution setting as well. Select Options > Graphics within Warzone. Then click Advanced under Render resolution to check the game’s resolution is also set to P there.

5. Verify Warzone’s Files

Gaming crashes often occur because of corrupted or even missing game files. That’s why many game client software packages, such as sprers.eu and Steam, incorporate file verification options. Running a file repair scan for Call of Duty: Warzone in sprers.eu might fix some files and resolve Memory Error

Here is how you can verify Warzone’s files:

  1. Start the sprers.eu launcher software for Warzone.
  2. Click All Games and select Warzone from there.
  3. Select Options on the right of the Play button.
  4. Then click Scan and Repair from the menu.
  5. Wait for the repair tool to finish the scanning.

6. Update Your PC’s Graphics Driver

Antiquated or faulty graphics drivers are another common cause of a wide range of gaming errors. As Warzone has plenty of fancy graphical effects, it’s important to make sure your PC’s GPU has the latest graphics driver for it installed to ensure you can play the game without issues. Updating your GPU’s driver will ensure an incompatible or faulty graphics driver isn’t causing Memory Error

You can update a video card’s driver manually or with driver updater software. Not all driver updater tools will necessarily install the very latest graphics drivers available. So, manually downloading and installing the very latest driver for your GPU from AMD or NVIDIA's website is the best choice.

Alternatively, our guide on how to update your graphics drivers provides full details on how to update GPU drivers via different methods.

7. Clean Boot Your PC

Clean-booting Windows 11 will strip away superfluous startup apps and services. Although it’s not entirely clear if Memory Error occurs because of program conflicts, clean booting is at least another way you can free up RAM and other system resources for Call of Duty: Warzone. This is how you can clean boot your PC:

  1. Open MSConfig by pressing Win + R, entering "msconfig," and pressing Enter.
  2. Uncheck the checkbox for Load startup items on the General tab.
  3. Click Services to switch to that MSConfig tab.
  4. To exclude more important background services, select Hide all Microsoft services.
  5. Press the Disable all button to stop the third-party services starting with Windows.
  6. Select Apply and OK within MSConfig.
  7. Click Restart to perform the clean boot as configured.
  8. Play Call of Duty: Warzone again after clean booting.

If the Memory Error crash never happens after clean booting, that could mean there was previously another process conflicting with the game or that you needed to free up system resources. The simple solution would be to keep your current boot configuration.

If you must restore some startup programs, you can do so via the Task Manager’s Startup tab. Restore one startup item at a time to see how that affects the game.

8. Reinstall Call of Duty: Warzone

If none of the above possible Memory Error fixes work, you might need to reinstall Call of Duty: Warzone to restore missing files. It’s a big download, but reinstalling Warzone might be your best bet when you’re short of other options.

You can uninstall and reinstall the game with the following steps:

  1. Open sprers.eu’s window on your PC.
  2. Click All Games to select Warzone.
  3. Then select the Start button’s cog icon to bring up an options menu.
  4. Select Uninstall to remove the current game.
  5. As an optional step, it’s recommended to restart Windows before reinstalling games and other software.
  6. Open Warzone in your sprers.eu library again, and click the Install button.
  7. Wait hours for Warzone to download and reinstall.

Have Fun Playing Call of Duty: Warzone Again

Warzone can be an exhilarating game when it doesn’t crash all the time. The above resolutions don’t come completely guaranteed, but there’s a pretty good chance they’ll fix Warzone’s Memory Error issue in most cases. Then you can play Call of Duty: Warzone without any further persistent crashing ruining the fun.

Improvements

We've updated how we display the game icons throughout the app.

  • The game icons are smaller, allowing us to display more on screen in the Games tab.
  • There is now a collapsible state in the Games tab navigation allowing you to hide the game's title.

other notes

  • Game icons have a flatter look that looks more like vector art.
  • A release notes window appeared after the update which appears new, but this could be only in the Mac version. This has possibly been showing up in the PC version for awhile.

Suggested Friends
  • Suggested Friends will provide users with new and easy ways to make new friends on sprers.eu:

    • Mutual Friends (Friends of Friends) will also be displayed in the new Suggested Friends section.
    • ‘Recently Played With’ players will be gathered from recent games you have played with people that aren't currently your friends.
      • Currently only Diablo is supported, but we plan to expand this to other games in the future!
Friends List Improvements

We are adding new options for how your friends are displayed and grouped on the Friends List:

  • All friends currently playing a game can be toggled to appear at the top of the Friends List and will be grouped alphabetically, by game title.
  • You can choose to show both BattleTag and Real ID for your friends.

  5. Restart your PC and download the latest sprers.eu client.

If this trick doesn&#;t work for you, simply check the next one below.

Fix 2: Scan for missing or corrupted DLL files

Recently we see many gamers are having the same &#;DLL could not be found&#; issue. If that&#;s also your case, you can do a scan to find out what&#;s the problem.

You can follow this guide by Microsoft to scan manually. But if you don’t have the time or skills to do it yourself, you can give Restoro a try. It’s a professional Windows repair tool that can scan your system’s overall status, diagnose your system configuration, identify faulty system files, and repair them automatically. It gives you entirely fresh system components with just one click, so you don’t have to reinstall Windows and all your programs, and you don’t lose any personal data or settings.

  1. Downloadand install Restoro.
  2. Open Restoro. It will run a free scan of your PC and give you a detailed report of your PC status.
  3. Once finished, you&#;ll see a report showing all the issues. To fix all the issues automatically, click START REPAIR (You&#;ll need to purchase the full version. It comes with a day Money-Back Guarantee so you can refund anytime if Restoro doesn&#;t fix your problem).

If the scan doesn&#;t give you any help, take a look at the next solution.

Fix 3: Update all your drivers

The sprers.eu not working issue could indicate a driver issue. In other words, you could be using incompatible, broken or outdated drivers. If you don&#;t remember when was the last time you updated computer drivers, definitely do it now.

You can update your graphics driver manually, by visiting the manufacturer’s website (NVIDIA/AMD), downloading the latest correct installer and installing step by step. But if you don’t have the time or patience to do that manually, you can use Driver Easy to update automatically:

  1. Download and install Driver Easy.
  2. Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.
  3. Click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system.(This requires the Pro version – you’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All. If you don’t want to pay for the Pro version, you can still download and install all the drivers you need with the free version; you just have to download them one at a time, and manually install them, the normal Windows way.)

The Pro version of Driver Easy comes with full technical support. If you need assistance, please contact Driver Easy&#;s support team at [email protected]

Once you&#;ve updated all your drivers, restart your PC and check if sprers.eu works now.

If the latest drivers can&#;t fix the issue, take a look at the next method.

Fix 4: Install all Windows updates

Microsoft rolls out system updates to improve overall stability. Normally you don&#;t need to check for updates since it&#;s automatic, but it becomes necessary if you&#;re having computer issues. And this is especially true if you&#;re on Windows

  1. On your keyboard, press Win+I (the Windows logo key and the i key) to open the Windows Settings app. Click Update & Security.
    update & security
  2. Click Check for updates. Windows will then download and install the available patches. It might take some time (up to 30 mins).

To confirm you’ve installed all the system updates, repeat these steps until it prompts “You’re up to date” when you click Check for updates.

Once completed, restart your PC for the changes to take effect. Then you can try to launch the sprers.eu client.

If the issue is still there, you can move on to the next method.

Fix 5: Update Visual C++ Redistributables

The Visual C++ Redistributable install libraries that help you run most of the games and applications on Windows. If one of the libraries is missing or corrupted, you could run into trouble launching programs. You can use the following steps to install or update C++ Redistributables.

If you&#;re not a tech-savvy user, proceed with care and backup important files. You can also consult your IT guy or reach out to a specialist online.

  1. On your keyboard, press Win+R to invoke the Run box. Type sprers.eu and click OK.
  2. Scroll down the list to locate Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables. These are the libraries you may need to update.
  3. Go to this Microsoft guide and download the Redistributable packages according to the ones you already have. You can use this guide to determine whether you&#;re on a bit or bit system.

Hopefully this post helps you fix the sprers.eu not working issue. If you have any questions or ideas, feel free to drop a line in the comments below.

The application has encountered an unexpected error.

The infinite loop of "Scan & Repair" is battlenet diagnostic tool error 0 of the most common issues that players face with their Call of Duty: Warzone, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard games when launching via the sprers.eu launcher. Now it has once again returned for Vanguard players right after the game's launch.

You have probably come across a random game crash with the following "Fatal Error" message.

You would have pressed the "Scan and Repair" option from this Fatal Error (like any normal person would do), which leads to an unlimited loop of "Scan & Repair" in your sprers.eu launcher, not allowing you to enter the game. You then might be shown yet another error with the code BLZBNTAGBB8 (the code might differ slightly depending on which game it is happening for you).

Normally, you would press the "Scan & Repair" option by clicking on the gear icon next to your launcher's "Play" button. But, at this point, even it won't work.

Blizzard Customer Support suggests deleting the .IDX files in the data folder of your game directory. However, you've likely arrived here because that solution battlenet diagnostic tool error 0 always work.

The easiest, yet most unpopular, method to solve the "Scan & Repair" loop is to simply re-install the game. However, installing + GB of game files is not something anyone wants to do if it can be at all avoided. In this guide, we show you exactly how to fix the problem without re-installing your game. In the guide we do it for Black Ops Cold War as an example, but the method also works for Warzone, Vanguard and other Blizzard games associated with the sprers.eu launcher.

  • Step 1: First, go to your game directory. The easiest way to do this is by clicking on the gear icon next to your 'Play' button and selecting the 'Show in Explorer' option. It will directly open up the game directory. Note that you will be one folder outside the main directory. Click on the folder with the same name as your game you're trying to fix.

  • Step 2: Delete all the files in the directory except the 'Data' folder. Don't worry, you won't have to install the complete game again as we are keeping the 'Data' folder to avoid re-installing the complete game. Select everything except the 'Data' folder and delete.

  • Step 3: Next, you must delete all the .idx extension files from the 'data' directory. Open the 'Data' folder and inside you will find another 'data' folder with a lower-case 'd.'

Sort the files by pressing the 'Type' column, and the .idx files will come on top. Delete all the .idx files that you see in this 'data' folder.

You can also search for ".idx" using the search bar at the top right corner of your windows explorer. It will show you all the .idx files that excel runtime error 70 need to delete.

  • Step 4: Once again go to the 'data' folder inside the parent 'Data' folder and sort the files in ascending order. This way, the files will be sorted from smallest to largest size files. Then, delete everything that is smaller than 2 MB. Do not delete anything above 2 MB, battlenet diagnostic tool error 0.

  • Step 5: Restart your sprers.eu launcher, and your game should automatically start scanning and repairing. This time, it will not stop in the middle and won't show any error messages. It will go on to complete, and you will be able to see the "Play" button instead of the "Scan & Repair" button.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment below and let us know if this solution worked for you or not!
