After I got Angry Birds for the PC as a free download, I installed it on several computers, angry birds error opengl 2.0. Most of them ran smoothly. After all, this was a game designed with mobile devices in mind. The requirement was not that demanding. It even ran well on an 6 year-old laptop. However, angry birds error opengl 2.0, I did run into a problem when I installed it onto one computer. Whenever I ran it, I got this error message:

    OpenGL 2.0 renderer not supported!
Reason OpenGL 2.0 is not supported
    OpenGL 1.4 renderer not supported!
Reason OpenGL 1.3 is not supported

The video card of the computer was a Nvida card, and I am pretty sure it supported OpenGL. A quick Google search produced an article that suggested updating the video card driver. I did as instructed, and the problem was fixed. Some of my readers had problems updating video card drivers. so I decided to add some more information. The first thing you can try is letting Windows update the driver automatically. Here are the steps:

    1. Click on the Windows logo on the task bar and type in device manager. The Device Manager shows up. Click on it to run.
    2. Expand Display Adapters and right click on the device you are interested in and select Update Driver Software… .
    3. Click on Search automatically for updated driver software.
    4. When it finds an updated driver, the driver is downloaded and installed automatically. You can reboot the computer after the driver is successfully installed.

If this works, you can stop reading the rest of the article. If not, read on.

The next thing to try is to update the video card driver manually. There are three major manufacturers for video cards. Here are the links to the driver download sites for them.

    Intel

    AMD (ATI)

    Nvidia

Visit the sites and enter your video card’s model to search for the driver. Note that you can find your video card’s model in Device Manager. Download the latest driver and install it.

I had a more detailed post about updating video card driver on Windows. Click on the link to find out more.

If all else fails, you can always play Angry Bird on Chrome browser.

    OpenGL ES 2.0 and games

In theory opengl support is dependent on your drivers - in windows, its bundled into the hardware specific drivers as an installable client driver, and its supported by mesa on linux, angry birds error opengl 2.0. OpenGL 2.0 has been out for the past 5 years, so, most semi-modern video cards should support it.

By the speed of the system, i'm assuming its a 2000ish era system, and it predates opengl 2.0. Upgrading the driver MIGHT work (but i doubt it somewhat - drivers for a system that old would be hard to find, and not maintained. ) or a more serious fix would be to find a semi modern PCI based card - unless it has PCI-e and switch to discrete graphics.

With a 56 mb onboard graphics card. modern games are implausible. Even angry birds error opengl 2.0 x3100, which could use a whopping 384 mb of ram (and is about 4-5 years old) can't really handle much outside casual gaming -its on the verge of being able to run source based games (and source scales VERY well) but can't. A video card update should give your system a few more years, IMO

    2.       Are you playing online game or downladed the game onto the computer?

Let’s follow these methods and check:

Method 1: Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card and check if it fixes the problem.

Follow these steps to uninstall and reinstall the driver:

    a.       Right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.

    b.      From the list of devices, click on Display Adapter.

    c.       Double click the device name and then right click and select properties.

    d.      On the Driver tab, click on Uninstall.

    e.      Restart the computer.

    f.        Open device Manager again select Display Adapter.

    g.       Right click and select Update driver.

Refer this article for more information:

How to manage devices in Windows XP

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283658

Method 2: I would suggest you to perform clean boot and check if the game works.

You may configure the computer in clean boot and check if the issue persists. It will start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs and helps to eliminate software conflicts.

You may refer to the link:

If the issue does not persist you may continue with step 2 from the above link.

Make sure you reset the computer to normal mode after the troubleshooting completes. Refer to the section “Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state”
